ATHLETICS: Attention athletes interested in trying out for the 2020 Davis High School Track and Field team. There will be a meeting on Tuesday, January 14 at 5:30pm in the DHS All-Student Center for both athlete and parents. We will discuss the upcoming season and the tryout process. ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:AP: The last day to submit accommodations requests to College Board is January 17, 2020. Students who currently have an IEP or a 504 Plan with testing accommodations must see their school counselor to confirm they have been approved for testing accommodations during AP Exams. Only students who have been approved by College Board are eligible to receive testing accommodations on their AP Exam.
Davis Enterprise columnist and icon Bob Dunning will be speaking in Brunelle Theater at lunch on Wednesday, January 15th. He will discussing Davis' move to district elections for citywide office. All are welcome. If you're interested in elections, local politics, or journalism please consider attending.
Come sing at Davis High school’s 16th Annual Davis Idol Competition. Applications are in the office and due on January 10th. There is a 15 dollar application fee. To find applications and for other questions go to PA-8. We would love to hear your voice!
YEARBOOK: Attention Senior Parents! Make sure your senior has a keepsake of this important year. Deadlines for purchasing a yearbook and/or a commemorative ad are coming up! Go to the school website at http://dshs.djusd.net/ and click on “Yearbook Website” on the left to purchase a yearbook directly from Walsworth. If you are not sure if you have purchased a yearbook already, Please check the list posted outside the Finance window .Prices and deadlines for yearbook pre-sales are as follows: Until Jan. 17: $110. A limited number of books will be available for sale in May for $125. PURCHASE A SENIOR AD Share your memories and a congratulatory message with your graduate by purchasing a senior ad. Go to the school website and, under the “Student Life” tab, click on “Yearbook Website” on the left. Scroll down to find the “Senior Ad” link. You will submit text and photos; the yearbook staff will design it to match the rest of the ads in the section. Senior ads may be submitted between now and Friday, Jan. 10. No senior ads can be purchased after Jan. 10. Here are the prices: Full page ad: $280, 1/2 page ad: $175, 1/4 page ad: $100, 1/8 page ad: $65.
CLUBS: Hace frio! It is cold out there. Spanish Club is collecting Winter, outer-wear and sleeping bags for the homeless. Bring your donations by room O-6(Candelario’s room) at 8 a.m. or lunch this week.
Hello Culture Clubbers, be sure to join us this Tuesday, the 14th in P-23 for a presentation on the Republic of Lebanon. It’ll be the bomb.
Lunchtime Intramurals will be starting a Doubles Badminton tournament. Find yourself a partner, and come sign up, and join the FUN! Championship tee shirts and prizes for the winning teams! Sign ups with Mr. Ariola or Ms. Crawford in the Big gym at Lunch this week.
There are 2 important deadlines coming up. January 17th is the last day to pre-order a yearbook. Purchase yours on the school website for $110 for Seniors only-Please remind your parents. January 20th is the deadline to purchase a senior ad. Information is on the home page of the school website.
