ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: John O'Brien will be speaking three times on 2/18.  He will be speaking to all students (free of charge) at lunch on Tuesday, February 18th in Brunelle Theater.  He will also be speaking to the Gay Straight Alliance beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Ms. Istas' room L-29.  Finally, he will be speak at 7:00 pm. in Brunelle Theater.  Mr. O'Brien is a living historical figure - he participated in the Stonewall Uprising.  He also helped organize the 1st Gay Pride Parade and helped form the Gay Liberation Front.  There is so much more!  Please come to one of his events to learn more.
Advanced Placement Exams (AP):  The Final AP registration order and payments are due Thursday, Feb 20th. Students must register online at https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/50730 with a join code from their teacher or AP coordinator. AP S2 exams are $99.00 and AP S1, AY exams are now $139.00. Payments can be may at https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/50730  or in the Finance Office.  As mandated by College Board, AP exams cannot be ordered for students that do not register on myap.collegboard.org even if a payment has been made.
Seniors the 2020 Graduation Speech Applications are now available. Please pick up an application form from Ms. Marlen Cabrera in the office if you are interested in being selected to speak at Graduation.

 Youth in Government applications are now available in ASC-100, and are due February 26. Youth in Government is a great way to learn about local Davis Government, and improve your college applications.
Hey Seniors! It's time to vote for Senior Mocks! Check your school loop for a link to the voting form. Don't wait to vote for Best Eyes, Broadway Bound and many more! Voting closes Wednesday, February 19!
Pick up your AVID applications in the main office and return to Mrs. McInturf in room L-105 by Friday, February 28th.
National FFA week is coming up! The first event is on Wednesday February 19th at 8 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. in Room O-1, (Mr. Hess's room). We will be serving plates of pancakes, sausages & more for $3. Anyone is welcome! So come!
CAREERS:  It's scholarship time! If you would like free money for college, then you should apply for scholarships! Twenty-three local community scholarships are now being offered to seniors graduating from a Davis high school.  You can find these local scholarships and many more in the Career Center's Scholarship Bulletin or on Naviance.  Come to the Career Center to apply for scholarships!

Are you interested in taking a gap year before starting college?  The PTA is sponsoring a Gap Year Fair on Saturday, February 22 from 1:00 - 4:00 in the All Student Center and library.  Students will hear speakers discuss a wide variety of gap year opportunities, and meet with representatives to learn about the many different gap year programs available.  Come to the Career Center for a flyer on how to sign up.
