THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1945 - The first ballpoint pens to be made commercially went on sale at Gimbels Department Store in New York at the price of $12.50 each.
MENU DHS: Breakfast Served Daily:  Cereal w/Graham Cracker, Breakfast Pizza, Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla, Pancakes w/ Sausage, Assorted Muffins, Chicken & Biscuit Slider, Yogurt Parfait w/Graham Cracker. Grab & Go Hot Chocolate & Muffin & Fruit Cinnamon Rolls.
Lunch: Street Tacos" Chicken, Fish or Ground Beef or Cheese Quesadilla with Sour Cream
ATHLETICS: The Davis High Wrestling team has the first practice of the season on Monday November 4.  Varsity practice for returning wresters starts at 3:45pm.  JV practice for freshmen, sophomores and all new wrestlers will start at 6:00pm.  All 9th-12th graders are welcome. Athletes must be cleared with the DSHS Athletics Office prior to Nov. 4.

Boys in grades 9-12: Interested in the DSHS Boys Golf Team this spring? Come to an info meeting on Thursday, November 7th at 7pm in the DSHS library. Meet the new coaches and learn about the upcoming season and tryouts.

Tryouts for Davis High Girls Basketball will begin Monday, Nov 4th. Seniors and Juniors tryout from 4-6 PM, Sophomores and Freshman tryout from 6-8 PM. Tryouts are held in the South (small) gym. You must have a cleared physical on file with DHS in order to tryout. If you are currently playing a fall sport, and will miss tryouts because of playoffs, please email Coach Heather Highshoe at hhighshoe at djusd.net<mailto:hhighshoe at djusd.net>. If you have any questions, contact Coach Highshoe.

Any student who is interested in joining the DHS Varsity Snowboard Team: The sign up meeting for athletes and families is tonight in DHS Room L20 at 7PM. The meeting is to discuss team expectations, prepare for training, and get details for the season. Dryland training starts on November 5 and our first practice day on the mountain is December 15. Sophomore boys interested in JV Boys Basketball tryouts: Pre-season conditioning will be held today, tomorrow and Nov. 1st from 5PM-6PM. Meet Coach Mueck in front of the home bleachers in the football stadium.

ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: DSHS will host the SAT on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Arrive to P-13 at 7:45 am to get your room assignment. You must have your registration ticket and photo ID to enter. Photo ID on cell phone will not be accepted. Remember to bring your calculator. Test begins promptly at 8am - NO late entry. Please consider leaving your cell phones at home. Cell phones and electronic devices will be collected and must be OFF. If your cell phone or electronic device make any noise you will be dismissed and your test will be canceled.
SENIORS: Senior Portraits are November 1st in the library. If you don't have an appointment yet come see Ms. Cabrera in the office
CLUBS: Interested in radio technology or experimenting with building and operating equipment? Come to Amateur Radio & Technology Club, Thursday in S-12 @ lunch for a presentation from guest speaker on preparing for and passing the license test.
Join Spanish Club Wednesday the 30th for fun and games. Hablas Español? Meet in O-6 during lunch, We will be electing officers and doing Dia de los Muertos art.
