THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1955 - The Vienna State Opera House in Austria formally opened.
MENU DHS: Breakfast Served Daily:  Cereal w/Graham Cracker, Breakfast Pizza, Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla, Pancakes w/ Sausage, Assorted Muffins, Chicken & Biscuit Slider, Yogurt Parfait w/Graham Cracker. Grab & Go Hot Chocolate & Muffin & Fruit Cinnamon Rolls.
Lunch: "Street Tacos" Chicken, Fish or Carnita, or a Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla
ATHLETICS: Congratulations to Varsity Football league champions! Come support the team as they play in the first round of playoffs this Friday Nov. 8 at home vs Gregori at 7pm.
Boys in grades 9-12: Interested in the DSHS Boys Golf Team this spring? Come to an info meeting on Thursday, November 7th at 7pm in the DSHS library. Meet the new coaches and learn about the upcoming season and tryouts.
Girls in grades 9-12 interested in DSHS Girl Soccer this season:  Tryouts will start Thursday, November 14:  Varsity 4:00-5:30; JV 5:00-6:30 on the DHS grass soccer field. Bring cleats, shin guards, running shoes and water. Must be cleared with DSHS Athletics before tryouts.

ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: Let the Davis High School Jazz Choir bring some sparkle to your holiday party or any special occasion by hiring an octet to perform at your event! These talented singers are available to perform traditional and jazzy interpretations of holiday songs, jazz standards, numbers from Broadway - they can even sing the Hallelujah chorus!  They do all of this with verve, grace, and an expressive style that is all their own. Fees start at $300, and can increase depending on travel distance and length of engagement. Seniors - Can you believe it is already time to start thinking about Grad Night? Every graduating senior in Davis (DaVinci, DSIS, King and DHS) is welcome to celebrate at this All-night party on Friday, June 12th from 9:30 pm- 5:00am. Tickets are $75.00 until February 1st so get your tickets before prices go up. Ticket includes all activities, food, and raffle entry. YEARBOOK: Attention Senior Parents! Make sure your senior has a keepsake of this important year. Deadlines for purchasing a yearbook and/or a commemorative ad are coming up! Go to the school website at http://dshs.djusd.net/ and click on "Yearbook Website" on the left to purchase a yearbook directly from Walsworth.  If you are not sure if you have purchased a yearbook already, please contact ASB bookkeeper Mikayla  Fregoso at mfregoso at djusd.net<mailto:mfregoso at djusd.net>.Prices and deadlines for yearbook pre-sales are as follows: Until Dec. 31: $95,Until Jan. 17: $110. A limited number of books will be available for sale in May for $125. PURCHASE A SENIOR AD Share your memories and a congratulatory message with your graduate by purchasing a senior ad. Go to the school website and, under the "Student Life" tab, click on "Yearbook Website" on the left. Scroll down to find the "Senior Ad" link. You will submit text and photos; the yearbook staff will design it to match the rest of the ads in the section. Senior ads may be submitted between now and Friday, Jan. 10. No senior ads can be purchased after Jan. 10. Here are the prices: Full page ad: $280, 1/2 page ad: $175, 1/4 page ad: $100, 1/8 page ad: $65
Peer Tutors: Please remember on November 8th to check in first at the attendance office and then go to DSHS library.

CLUBS: Interested in business? Come to Entrepreneurship Club in N-2 @ lunch this Thursday to listen to guest speaker and local business owner Simon Pitfield talk about how he founded his own sports Company.

CAREERS: Colleges visiting the Career Center today include Mills College.
Cabin Leaders are needed for North Davis Elementary's trip to Walker Creek February 3 - 7.  Deadline to apply is November 20. Come to the Career Center for an application.
SENIORS:  Need help completing your financial aid application?  If so, come to the free CASH FOR COLLEGE WORKSHOP on Thursday November 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the All Student Center, where trained volunteers will help you complete financial aid applications, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and California Dream Act application.  All seniors and their parents are invited to attend.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
