ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:

We are getting closer to graduation! Senior Speech applications are now available at the office. Applications are due Friday, April 5th at 4:00p.m. No late speeches will be accepted. A panel of judges will read the speeches and select the finalist. Finalist will be invited to a live audition on Thursday, April 18th during 7th period. Students will be chosen and notified by April 23rd.


"DSHS Dance Team" will be holding tryouts for the 2019-2020 school year April 8th - April 11th. Mandatory Clinic, Monday, April 8th - Wednesday, April 10th, from 4-6pm @ DSHS Dance Room Tryouts, Thursday, April 11th @ 4 pm Parent/Student Information Packet there will be a mandatory parent/guardian and student meeting on Wednesday, April 3rd from 5:00pm-5:30pm in the DSHS Dance room. It is required that all dancers have been cleared by Athletics prior to participating in tryouts. DHS PTA Newsletter Submissions Friday, Mar. 22nd, is the deadline for submitting information and articles for the April edition of the Davis High School PTA newsletter. Please send news, announcements, etc. to the DHS PTA Media Listserve at DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org<mailto:DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org>. Be sure to include your name, email address and phone number in case the newsletter editor has questions about your submission and also note that not every submission will be automatically included. Inclusion is at the discretion of our communications committee and is subject to timing, the appropriate venue(s), and frequency of the request(s). The newsletter is the ONLY communication tool that reaches ALL DHS families, whether they have internet access or not. The newsletter is generally published around the first of each month.  This is a great way to inform, notify or enlist parents' help for upcoming DHS school and student activities.

CLUBS:

Don't hesitate...FACILITATE. Applications to be a Friendship Day Facilitator for next year (2019-2020) are due by the end of 7th period on Friday, March 22nd. You can drop off completed applications to P-14 or to the Front Desk.



Hey, CSF Graduating Seniors Check the List! Senior status is posted in the window of P-13. Verify your status before April 5th.



Latinos Unidos will be having a meeting this, Thursday March 21st during lunch in the Student Success Center. There are a couple office positions open of you are interested.


CAREERS:
Volunteers are needed for Birch Lane Elementary School's dinner and auction at the Veterans Memorial Center on Saturday, April 6th. Various shifts are available to help to set up, serve food, and assist with auction related tasks. Come to the Career Center for more information.
Local scholarships for Davis high school students are available now! Come to the Career Center this week to pick up local scholarship applications so you can work on them over spring break. Spring break is a great time to fill out scholarship applications and have them ready to turn in by the April 5 deadline!
