  *   Breakfast Served Daily:  Cereal w/Graham Cracker, Breakfast Pizza, Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla, Pancakes w/ Sausage, Assorted Muffins, Chicken & Biscuit Slider, Yogurt Parfait w/Graham Cracker.

Lunch: Today's Lunch specials in the ASC Café are Nachos (Beef and nacho cheese and bean and cheese), Grilled veggie sandwich and Roasted Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy.

ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:

Open House 2019! DHS will host it's Open House on Tuesday, February 19th, from 5-7 p.m. come visit with our teachers and counselors and learn about our courses and programs.


DHS Choral Auditions - Sign up to Audition for Jazz Choir, Madrigals & Advance Treble Choir: Do you want to join one of DHS' auditioned choirs next year? Jazz Choir, Madrigals and ATC will be holding their auditions on March 4-7.  All applicants MUST register by February 22, 2019 to audition. Parents of auditioning students are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-audition Parent Meeting on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 4 pm in DHS room P-10 to hear about the audition process and the DHS auditioned choir experience.
The turn in date for AP Art Studio portfolios has been extended to Friday, Feb 15.  See any Art teacher for more information.

Auditions for the 2019/20 DHS Symphonic and Jazz bands are available for everyone interested. Please contact Mr. Slabaugh in PA-3 to receive the audition requirements and sign up for an audition time. - Mr. Slabaugh


CLUBS:
Do you want the opportunity to shadow a city official for the day? Youth in Government applications are available in ASC-100 and the office. Informational meeting will be this Friday, February 15th at lunch in the ASC-100.

Wednesday the 20th in room O-1A, join FFA for a pancake breakfast from 8:00-8:45a.m. All are welcome! Two back, two cakes, two sausage, milk /Juice and fruit.

FFA Week: Next week is FFA Week, come join us at lunch for a week full of fun! Tuesday is our petting zoo, Wednesday is the AG Olympics, Thursday is class demonstrations, and Friday is the truck and tractor show. All the fun is in the quad!

Want to stand out in college applications and make a difference in the community? Join the Type 1 Diabetes Club on Tuesday, February 19th in room P-21. Hope to see you there!

Feminism Club is collecting donations for Saint John's Program for Real Change - a Shelter for Women and Children. Help those in our community by bringing in socks, personal hygiene items, baby formula or other items to L-28 between 2/14 and 3/7. Follow @dhsfeminism Club on Instagram for the full list of items needed.

Do you want to make a lot of money with little effort? Of course you do! Come on down to Investment Club in L-22 every Friday at lunch to start making money now.

Hey, key Clubbers! Registration will be held in front of S-12 during lunch. If you are returning member bring last semester completed hour sheet. If you are a new member interested in joining, bring $13.

Drums on the Quad this Friday at lunch: come celebrate Black History Month with a drum presentation put on by the Fenix Drum and Dance Company. Listen to authentic drumming from West Africa, the Congo, and the Caribbean. Better yet, join in and play the drums with this dynamic drumming group.

Interested in Business? Come to N-02 during lunch on February 21st to learn about the Speech & Debate Business initiative, a program designed to give you real world business experience and mentorship from local entrepreneurs. Additional information can be found in N-02.

CAREERS:
SENIORS: It's scholarship time! If you would like free money for college, then you should apply for scholarships! Nineteen local community scholarships are now being offered for seniors graduating from a Davis high school. You can find these local scholarships and many more in the Career Center's Scholarship Bulletin or on Naviance. Come to the Career Center to apply for scholarships!
The next Financial Literacy class is Friday, February 15 at lunch in the Career Center. Financial literacy classes are open to all students are a great way to learn money management skills!  Pizza will be provided. A representative from Yolo Federal Credit Union will discuss taxes and how to file a tax return if you have a job. Come to the Career Center this week to sign up!
If you are a junior boy or junior girl interested in government, come to the Career Center to apply for the American Legion Boys State and Girls State all-expense paid summer camps. At the camps, students will actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government. Those who apply must have leadership skills and an interest in community and government. Deadline to apply is February 20.  Come to the Career Center for an application.
If you are interested in learning about the United States Military Academy at West Point, the West Point admissions department will hold an informational session in Sacramento on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. At American River College. At the event, you will hear representatives will explain the West Point admissions process in detail. Come to the Career Center for more information.
