MENU DHS:

  *   Breakfast Served Daily:  Cereal w/Graham Cracker, Breakfast Pizza, Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla, Pancakes w/ Sausage, Assorted Muffins, Chicken & Biscuit Slider, Yogurt Parfait w/Graham Cracker.
  *   Grab & Go Hot Chocolate & Muffin & Fruit Cinnamon Rolls.
Lunch: Happy Burrito Day! The ASC Café is now offering burrito bowls in addition to our burritos. We are now serving chicken, beef and nacho cheese, bean and cheese, and veggie (vegan) burritos!
TODAY:
Guys, gals, and non-binary pals! The GSA will be holding officer elections. Come to Ms. Ista's room, L-29 with short speech prepared if you want to run. Contact the officers for more information.

CAASPP make-up for ELA & Mathematics will be held from 9:00am to 12:00pm in the Library West Conference Room.
Hey Women in STEM, we will be having another general meeting. Please come if you are planning to volunteer at our Girls Mathalon event as we will be going over important information for this.
ATHLETICS:
Are you ready to cheer for DHS? Try-outs are coming for next year and we want you on the sidelines with us! Try-outs will take place the week of April 29-May 3rd, from 4:00-6:00pm daily. Join DHS cheerleading for information nights on Monday, April 15 OR Tuesday, April 16th to get all of the details on the 2019-20 season! It is mandatory to attend at least one of these meetings with a parent in order to try out. Meetings will begin at 6:00pm in the DSHS library, and both girls and boys are welcome! Sports Physical Clinic! Saturday, June 1st 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.  Sutter Family Medicine 2030 Sutter Pl., Suite 2000. Athletes in grades 7-12 are encouraged to complete their sports physicals this spring for the 2019-20 school year. $20 donation benefits DSHS Athletics. Please bring a Sports Physical Examination Form completed, signed by a parent/guardian in order to participate in the clinic. Available on Athletics page, forms folder: https://dshs.djusd.net

Please come for dinner, enjoy the Boy's Lacrosse Game JV 5:30pm/7:30V, recognize our Seniors and help Break the Record Night Tuesday, April 23rd. Wear Blue and White join us for a fun night with delicious food & beverages provided by Woodstocks Pizza, The Hotdogger and Jamba Juice @ Halden Field at DSHS Stadium. Hope to see you there!

ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
Wednesday, April 24, 2019 is the deadline for submitting information and articles for the May/June (and final) edition of the DHS PTA newsletter for this school year. Please send news, announcements, etc. To the DHS PTA Media Listserve at DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org<mailto:DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org>. Be sure to include your name, email address, phone number in case the newsletter editor has questions about your submission, and also note that not every submission will be automatically included. Inclusion is at the discretion of our communications committee and is subject to timing, the appropriate venue(s), and frequency of the request(s). The newsletter is the ONLY communication tool that reaches ALL DHS families, whether they have internet access or not. The newsletter is generally published around the first of each month. This is a great way to inform, notify or enlist parents' help for upcoming DHS school and student activities.
Attention seniors! Senior Ball is May 11th at the Hyatt. Last ticket sale date is April 26th at lunch in the Finance office. All seniors wishing to purchase tickets all forms can be found in the front office. To ensure your group sits together, please have a representative of your group deliver all completed forms at the time of purchase.
CLUBS:
Link Crew applications are available to all sophomores and juniors. This is a great chance to help next year's new students and make DHS an even better place to be. Applications are available in the office, library, room L-20, and on the DHS website. See Mr. Bill Williams for more information.

Do you want to earn community service hours while making our campus greener place? The RISE Student Boards Earth Day cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 20th from 10-11am in the DHS Solar Panel parking lot. Want to know more about Japanese education? Come to Culture Club! Junior Umika Kuroda is going to talk about her experience in Japan. Hope to see you there! Learn about Japanese culture this week and other cultures everyweek!

Attention Gamers! If you are Totally Epic then you have to come to Game Night on Wednesday, April 24th from 6:30 to 8:30 in the ASC. There will be a super smash Brothers Tournament.



CAREERS:
A new scholarship is available for DHS students! The Davis High School Ag Booster Scholarship is for seniors planning to pursue a career in agriculture or a related field. Come to the Career Center for an application. The deadline to apply is April 30.
Do you need a summer job? The school district is now hiring summer custodians. The position is 40 hours per week June 17 through August 23 and pays $13.67 per hour. You can apply at the District Office, 526 B Street, or come to the Career Center for more information.
College Night for Juniors and their parents is Thursday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. starting in the All Student Center. At College Night, juniors will learn about two- and four-year public and private colleges and universities, transfer opportunities, testing requirements, financial aid and much more during breakout sessions. Join us on April 25 to find out more about the process of applying to college!
