Lunch: Happy Burrito Day! The ASC Café is now offering burrito bowls in addition to our burritos. We are now serving chicken, beef and nacho cheese, bean and cheese, and veggie (vegan) burritos!
TODAY:
The deadline for submitting information and articles for the October edition of the DHS PTA newsletter is today. Please send news, announcements, etc. to the DHS PTA Media Listserve at DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org<mailto:DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org>. Be sure to include your name, email address and phone number in case the newsletter editor has questions about your submission and also note that not every submission will be automatically included. Inclusion is at the discretion of our communications committee and is subject to timing, the appropriate venue(s), and frequency of the request(s).The newsletter is the ONLY communication tool that reaches ALL DHS families, whether they have internet access or not. The newsletter is generally published around the first of each month.  This is a great way to inform, notify or enlist parents' help for upcoming DHS school and student activities.

Hey Key Clubbers! Is the last day you can register to be a member this fall. We will be located in front of S-12 during lunch. Make sure to bring last semester's hour sheet (if you were a member last semester) and $13 dollars.

Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! Come to the GSA meeting at lunch in Mrs. Istas room L-29, up the stairs on the right side of the library. Make sure to visit our table during club fair too!

Attention all students: For football games there will be a student ASB card entrance starting at this Friday's home game. Please enter through Southeastern gate directly behind the ambulance. Students must present their ASB cards to enter. If you purchased an ASB card and have not yet received it, please bring a copy of your receipt as proof. As a reminder, no backpacks/string bags will be allowed in the stadium.
ACADEMICS/ OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
The PSAT is Saturday, 10/13. The cost is $24.00. There are NO Refunds and no transfers. Sales end 10/1. There are a limited number of tests available. If you feel this is a financial hardship, please contact your counselor immediately.
*Juniors only: Online purchasing is available until- 10/1 @ dshs.djusd.net
*Sophomores: Online purchasing is available 9/17 - 10/1 @ dshs.djusd.net and is subject to availability
*In-person sign-ups will be held during lunch only, 9/24 - 10/1 at the Finance Office outside window. Students or   parents can pay in person via credit card, cash or check payable to Davis High School or DHS.

Attention Blue Devils! On September 25th at the Library West conference room, is your last chance to get your ID's and pictures Retake. Please make sure to take your ASB receipt if you have purchased an ASB or need a correction to your ID. Life touch will be on campus from 7:30am-1:00pm. We will see you there!

Calling all artists, photographers, and writers! Submissions for the fall/winter issue of SPOKE, a student run literacy magazine, are now open! The theme is "The Four Seasons". DAVIS PARENT UNIVERSITY Lecture Series - Dr. Michael Thompson, October 10th, 7- 9 pm, Brunelle

Support the Arts at DHS by joining the Brunelle Theater Student Usher Program.  Earn volunteer hours, gain customer service skills, and see performances for free.  Just attend one training, either Tuesday Sept 25th at 3:45pm OR Wed. Sept 26th at 2:45pm in the lobby of the theater, and you'll be eligible to Usher some of the over 125 performances and events held in the Brunelle each year. Come see how you can be involved!  All are welcome!  No experience necessary!

The DHS Site Council is looking for dedicated students to join our committee. The site council consists of Principal McHale, staff, parents and students. The Site Council discusses ways to improve student achievement and supports new programs. Site Council meets on the third Thursday of each month from 3:30 to 5:00. If you would like to help shape the future of our school, please pick up an application from Mr. McHale in the office by Monday, October 1. Applications are due by noon on Tuesday, October 2.

CLUBS:
Homecoming Applications are now available in the ASC-100! Come pick one up show your club or teams spirit to the whole community! Applications are due October 3rd!

If you are interested in community service, social service and personal growth, you may want to join The Youth Leadership Davis Program. Where you will intern at the Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter. Come to Mr. Vasquez room, ASC-100 at lunch on September 24th to learn about homelessness and the program. See you there!

Interested in learning about and discussing Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies? Come to A-7 during, lunch next Thursday and meet with the Cryptocurrency Club!

CAREERS:
Colleges visiting the Career Center this week include Oregon State, Rutgers, UC Santa Cruz, New York University and many more!  Go on Naviance or come to the Career Center to see the list of upcoming college visits!
Volunteers are needed for a community mural painting project in North Davis.  The Paint the Street project is creating a large dragon mural on the greenbelt and volunteers are needed to mix paint, help with children, and clean the street.  Come to the Career Center for a flyer on how to sign up.
