THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1788 - The Constitutional Convention decided that the first federal election was to be held on Wednesday the following February. On that day, George Washington was elected as the first president of the United States<http://www.on-this-day.com/us>. In addition, New York City was named the temporary national capital.

The PSAT is Saturday, 10/13. The cost is $24.00. There are NO Refunds and no transfers. Sales end 10/1. There are a limited number of tests available. If you feel this is a financial hardship, please contact your counselor immediately.

*Sophomores: Online purchasing is available 9/17 - 10/1 @ dshs.djusd.net and is subject to availability
*In-person sign-ups will be held during lunch only, 9/24 - 10/1 at the Finance Office outside window. Students or   parents can pay in person via credit card, cash or check payable to Davis High School or DHS.

Please make sure to take your ASB receipt if you have purchased an ASB or need a correction to your ID. Life touch will be on campus from 7:30am-1:00pm. We will see you there!

Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! The DHS GSA will be having their first meeting this Friday at lunch in Ms. Istas room L-29, in the library building. Bring your friends, and we hope to see you there!

Hey DHS! CSF registration is this week at lunch in P-13 and runs until September 21st. be sure to bring $5 dollars, a filled out pink sheet, and an unofficial transcript or report card of your last semester grades.

Want to win lots of shiny medals? Join Academic Decathlon! Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 18th during lunch. In room N-10. Hope to see you there!

Homecoming Applications are now available in the ASC-100! Come pick one up show your club or teams spirit to the whole community! Applications are due October 3rd!

CAREERS:
Are you interested in being a Walker Creek CABIN LEADER?  If so, cabin leaders are needed for Pioneer Elementary's Walker Creek trip November 26-30.  Cabin leaders must be a positive role model for kids, be a leader and enjoy being in nature. Come to the Career Center for an application.
College admission reps are visiting the Career Center! UC San Diego will be here on Friday! Come to the Career Center, which is located in the ASC, to see the list of all colleges visiting our high school this fall.
If you are interested in community service, social service and personal growth, you may want to join The Youth Leadership Davis program.  Students learn how to be community leaders and will be trained as interns at the Davis Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
