THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1943 - Chicago's new subway system was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

MENU DHS:

  *   Breakfast Served Daily:  Cereal w/Graham Cracker, Breakfast Pizza, Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla, Pancakes w/ Sausage, Assorted Muffins, Chicken & Biscuit Slider, Yogurt Parfait w/Graham Cracker.
  *   Grab & Go Hot Chocolate & Muffin & Fruit Cinnamon Rolls.
Lunch: Happy Taco Tuesday! ASC Café is now serving fish, chicken, ground beef and vegan tacos!
Reminder - Wednesday morning the ASC Café is open for breakfast from 7:45-8:53. If you get to school early, we look forward to you joining us for breakfast. We are currently offering a new croissant breakfast sandwich with turkey ham, cheese, and egg.

Staying Ahead of the Trends -- What Every Junior High and High School Family Needs to Know About Substance Use In Teenagers. The Davis High School Counseling Department invites you to join us at 7:00pm in the Brunelle Theatre at Davis Senior High for a parent education night with Amy Rose, Program Director of Recovery Happens Counseling Services.  We hope to see you all there.

Want to know more about LGBT History? Come to the LGBT History Club in Mr. Williams room, P-14. We will be discussing historical figures and their significance.

Attention Blue Devil Shredders! The DHS Snowboard team is having an information meeting on October 18 in room L20 at 7PM. Come learn about this varsity sport. The season lasts from December to February and you will have a chance to race the slalom and giant slalom at Lake Tahoe resorts. Hey Seniors! The time has come to submit your senior quotes. Check your school email today for more information. You don't want to be left out of the yearbook.

Purchase your Homecoming dance tickets now through Thursday at the Finance office window. Ticket sales will be during lunch and at the beginning of 7th period. Prices are $3 for ASB card holders and $5 without. Hurry! Prices go up this Wednesday to $5 and $8.

ATTENTION SENIORS!!! Prestige will be on campus November 2nd for Senior Portraits Retake in the Library West Conference room from 8:30am-3:30pm. Please if you do not receive an appointment slip during 3rd period prior to this date, make sure you contact Prestige to make your appointment any questions please come to the office and see Ms. Cabrera VP Secretary for further information. Don't miss this opportunity to be in the yearbook and make this a lifetime memory.

CLUBS:
Come to Zoology Club this Wednesday at lunch in room O-1A to learn about club events.

I bet you didn't know The Mitochondria is the Powerhouse of the cell. To learn more insane knowledge like this, come to Quiz Bowl in Mr. William's room, P-14, Wednesday at lunch.

CAREERS:
High school tutors are needed for Pioneer Elementary school's 4th-6th grade after school homework club on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
CABIN LEADERS are needed for North Davis Elementary's Walker Creek trip the week of January 7-11. Come to the Career Center for an application.
Montgomery Elementary School still needs MALE cabin leaders for their trip to Walker Creek November 26-30.  Come to the Career Center for an application.
