EVENTS FOR TODAY:
Open Mic Night at 6:00pm! Come see your friends perform stand-up and poetry, and maybe perform some music of your own because there will also be karaoke! Admission is free but there will be hot dogs and hamburgers for sale.

Today is the last day to turn in your Link Crew applications. You can pick up an application at the front office desk, library and room L-20. This is your chance to make DHS a better place for all of our new Blue Devils.

This week a caravan of 200 Central Americans seeking asylum arrived at the US Southern border and are now confronting President's Trump's restrictive immigration policies. What is your opinion on the administration's approach to immigration? To discuss, come to the DHS Politics Club at lunch in N-2.

Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! The GSA will be having officer elections during our meeting this Friday at lunch in Mr. Moore's room P-21 on the second floor near the elevator.

Athletes: If you have signed or will be signing a letter of intent to play a sport at the collegiate level, we want to celebrate you on May 30th @ 12:10pm in the Quad. Please stop by the athletic secretary desk in the main office to pick up your information sheet. Information sheets are due to the athletic department by May 23rd to participate in the event. All levels of college participation are encouraged to participate. If you have, any questions stop by and see us.
ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
Hey Seniors, it's almost time for prom! Prom tickets will be on sale until May 11th Prices: $80 without ASB $75 with ASB at the Finance office at lunch. To buy a ticket you must have a table organizer and a new dance contract turned in. both of these forms are available now in the finance office.
Dear DHS, Staff and Parents: Please nominate an educator you think is most deserving of the Honor of Floyd Fenocchio Memorial Educator of the Year. Please pick up an application at the front office and return you nomination with an attached description/ explanation of your nominee to Kate Prien, Site Secretary no later than noon on Friday, May 11, 2018. The finalist will receive the award at the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 29th.

Whether you have a senior this year, or will have one in the future, please consider helping make Grad Night a great night for our students! If you have a financial hardship, please contact your school's counseling office to discuss scholarship options to help cover the cost of your ticket.

The yearbook is looking for more staff members for the 2018-2019 school year! Our friendly class is an extracurricular that you can do during the school day. It is also a great activity to add to your college application. See your counselor about adding YEARBOOK to your schedule.

CLUBS:
This year, 6 students from DHS a record number qualified for Speech and Debate Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida! Help support Juhye Mun, Cedric Hughes, Albert Hu, Avery Keller, Anna Seahill, Lucia Moretti and Elise Turkovich by donating to our Gofundme account tittle "DHS Speech & Debate to Nationals"

The DHS Freedom from Hunger Club will be collecting personal hygiene items to donate to the River City Food Bank. They will be collecting May 2nd and May 9th, 8:00am - 8:40am in L-25. All donations are appreciated!

Join the Black Student Union for a movie viewing of the great debaters in the All Student Center on Wednesday, May 9th, From 6pm-9pm.  This event is free to attend, but donations are accepted and greatly appreciated. Refreshments will be sold!

CAREERS:
Putah Creek Council is offering restoration internships this summer on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from June 19-August 8.  Participants work in a native plant nursery and learn about habitat restoration, native plant landscaping, nursery management and more.  Interns will receive a stipend.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
SENIORS:  Did you apply for a local scholarship?  Names of scholarship recipients are starting to arrive, so come to the Career Center to see if your name is on the list of recipients!  The list is posted on the window of the Career Center and will be continually updated as scholarship recipient names are received.
