"Building Schools and Friendships Nicaragua 2018 Join Us" trip dates are from July 9th to 18th come to learned more today after school our meeting starts at 3:45 - 4:45 in room O-6 Ms. Candelario's room. All are invited teaches/staff too.

ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:

Seniors: Are you interested in giving a speech at the 2018 Graduation Ceremony?  Graduation speech applications are now available!  Please see Marlen Cabrera in the front office.  All applications are due by Friday, April 6, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. No late speeches will be accepted.

"DSHS Dance Team" will be holding tryouts for the 2018-2019 school year April 9th - April 12th.
Mandatory Clinic, Monday, April 9th - 11th, from 4-6pm @ DSHS Dance Room. Tryouts, Thursday, April 12th @ 4 pm
 Parent/Student Information Packet There will be a mandatory parent/guardian and student meeting on Wednesday, April 4th from 5:30pm-6:00pm in the DSHS Dance room. It is required that all dancers have been cleared by Athletics prior to participating in tryouts. English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) meeting at 5:30pm in the Davis Senior High School Library on THURSDAY, April 5th. This meeting is for all DHS students who are learning English as their second or third language and their parents. Food will be provided and siblings are welcome. If you have, any questions please contact David Achimore (EL Specialist) or Kellie Sequeira (Vice-Principal) See you Thursday at 5:30pm!



Interested in a leadership position within the DSHS Climate Committee? The DSHS Climate is a group of students and adults working to promote equity and justice at Davis High. Climate Executive member's elections will take place on April 3rd during the next Climate Committee Meeting during lunch in the West Conference Room. Four executive members (President, Vice President, CCCP Facilitator, Outreach Coordinator) will be elected to support the committee for a one-year commitment. All those interested in the positions must contact Vice-Principal Kellie Sequeira to add your name to the ballot.

CLUBS:
Do you want to be part of Friendship Day? If you are interested in becoming a facilitator next year, pick up an application from Mr. Williams room, P-14, and turn it in this Friday, March 23rd.

Hey CSF! There is a general meeting this Friday, March 23rd at lunch in room S-12. Please note, it will be in S-12, not P-13. If you are interested in been an officer next year, you need to come to this meeting. Hope to see you there!

Are you interested in Politics? If so, come to N-2 this Friday for DHS Politics Club's ice cream social! We will be discussing the latest current events and club leadership positions for next year.

Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! It's movie night this Friday from 7pm to 9pm in the All Student Center! The GSA will be showing Thelma. Be sure to pick up a permission slip from P-21. We will also have our regular meeting during lunch.

Hey CSF! If you are a senior, please come to Mrs. O'Brien's room P-13 to view your status as a CSF member. There are two lists: Active lifetime members and lifetime members. In order to receive the appropriate recognition, seniors must initial next to your name. The lists will be taken down by April 12th. Hope to see you there!

Make sure you pick up a copy of the HUB from your 4th period class when it comes out on Friday!

Attention CSF! As part of a drive for supplies for the Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter, CSF members are encouraged to donate supplies to the container in P-13 in Mrs. O' Brien's room and help Davis homeless population, requested supplies available at the club meetings. On behalf of Youth Leadership Davis, thank you!

CAREERS:
Would you like to help test an app designed to reduce distracted driving?  If you have a driver's license and drive independently on a regular basis, Adept Driver would like you and your parent or guardian to participate in this test.  The app is designed to send parents a text message when their teen drives.  Students in the program will receive a $50 gift card of their choice.   Come to the Career Center for more information.
Local scholarships for Davis high school students are available now!  Come to the Career Center this week to pick up local scholarship applications so you can work on them over spring break.   Spring break is a great time to fill out scholarship applications and have them ready to turn in by the April 6 deadline!
Would you like to volunteer this summer where you can make a positive impact on animal welfare, the environment, and children? If so, you should be a Camp Counselor at the Sacramento Zoo! Volunteers help prepare and teach classes for campers, lead songs and games, guide campers through Zoo scavenger hunts, assist in Family Overnight Safaris, and much more. The deadline to apply is April 19th.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
