ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:

Enjoy a delicious dinner, singing and dancing at the 30th annual DHS Jazz Choir Cabaret - the choir's most elaborate production and largest celebration of the year. Dinner shows will be held Saturday, Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb 11 at Emerson Junior High. A final show-only performance will be held on Saturday, Feb 17 at Brunelle. Attention Graduating Senior and Senior Parents!  Have you purchase your grad night tickets yet? You are running out of time for the discounted price. Every graduating senior in Davis (Da Vinci, DSIS, King and DHS) is welcome to celebrate at this All-night, alcohol and drug-free party on Friday, June 8th from 9:30 pm- 5:00 am. Parking Lots and Lockers: Students, please remember that parking lots are off limits during break, passing periods, and class time. If you are in need of a locker, there are still plenty of lockers available.  Please come to the attendance office and request a locker.  Remember to bring a lock!
Play the Knave, an interactive karaoke-style Shakespeare videogame, is coming to the After Hours program here at Davis Senior High Library! Come by on Mondays from 5:30-7:30pm to join in on this exciting new take on Shakespeare with avatars that allow you to be anything from an alien to a Roman soldier!
CLUBS:
Come audition for the spring play "The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later"! This is a play with a social justice message, about the lasting effects of a hate crime. Auditions begin January 23rd at 4pm in P-11, and continue until the 26th. See you there!



Register for the National Honor Society! We will be outside S-12 at lunch from January 22nd to February 2nd. Bring 5 dollars and a transcript from last semester. Active members should also bring an hour sheet. We look forward to seeing you there!



Friday is the last day to pre-order a yearbook. A link is available on the school website. This is your last chance to get a yearbook for $100 dollars the price goes up to $120 dollars if you wait until the yearbooks arrive in May.



Spoke Literacy and Art Magazine is now accepting submissions for its spring issue. The submission deadline is March 2nd and the theme is Home. CAREERS:
The Rotary Club is offering the following two all-expense paid camps this summer for high school juniors: Camp Royal leadership-training camp is filled with information, ideas and strategies to help students become more effective leaders.  Camp Venture is a motivational summer camp for students interested in pursuing a career in business, particularly as entrepreneurs. Both camps will be held in late June. Come to the Career Center for Camp Royal and Camp Venture applications. The deadline to apply is March 2.



Are you looking for a summer job?  If so, the City of Davis is holding a free Job Skills Workshop on Wednesday, January 31 at 4:00 p.m. in the Veteran's Memorial Center Theater.  Participants will learn how to contact with potential employers, write a resume, and prepare for job interviews. Come to the Career Center for more information.
