SENIORS! Do you know about the tradition of Davis Grad Night? Davis Grad Night is a fun, safe and sober all-night celebration for graduating seniors from the four high schools within the District (Davis Senior High School, DaVinci High School, Martin Luther King High School and DSIS). The party is held at Emerson Junior High School, with the entire campus transformed into a nightclub filled with activities, hundreds of raffle prizes and an all-night cafe. The decorations theme changes every year and is top secret until it is revealed at Grad Night. About 90% of the graduating class attends the event. The Adolescent Brain & Growth Mindset: This is the next presentation in our "Student Health and Wellness" monthly series and will be focus on the adolescent brain and growth mindset. This description will include a discussion on regulated/non-regulated actions and growth mindset. DSHS students are encouraged to follow the link below if they are interested in learning on these topics. Visit the DSHS Counseling page to click on our health and wellness offerings. A link on this page will allow students to sign up for the presentation while also excusing them from their 4th period class on December 11th. "Hey, are you a songwriter? The West Coast Songwriters Association is hosting a monthly open-mic and song-writing competition at the Melon Ball, in West Davis, on Monday, December 10th. It is unique opportunity to perform your song, receive feedback from knowledgeable judges, and network with fellow songwriters. If you join the association, your song will be entered into a competition. Prizes include free recording session and tickets to the annual music conference. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Performances begin at 7:00 PM. Interested in Biochemistry? Women in Stem is hosting a seminar by Debbie Yaver, an expert on enzyme creation. Come to S-05 on Friday at lunch to find out more!
Guys, gals, and non-binary pals! Come to the GSA meeting this Friday at lunch in Mrs. Ista's room, L-29, up the stairs on the right side if the library.
Want to help draw cards for children's hospitals? Come to the Art for cure meetings this Friday December 7th in Mr, Kanna's room L-27.
CAREERS:
If you would like to learn about the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship, come to the Career Center for a flyer on how to apply. The NROTC Scholarship provides full tuition and fees for college. The deadline to apply is December 31.
