ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
DHS students are invited to learn about Restorative Practice and how it helps build community. Join DHS student discussion in the DHS Library October, 11th @ 2:30 pm. During the 2017-2018 school year...DHS is offering student Health & Wellness Events. Each month special presentations and workshops that support our student's health and wellness will be held during and after our school day. After School Events- Students attending an event after school should arrive at the location and time indicated on the flyers, in the bulletin, or on the counseling web page. During School Events student should sign-up on the counseling web page under Health and Wellness and sign-in at the event to get their class absence excused. Stay Healthy and Strong DHS!
Seniors, Prestige Photography will be on campus on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 to take senior photos.
If you have not taken your senior photos please make sure to contact Marlen Cabrera, VP Secretary know right away via email mosoriocabrera at djusd.net<mailto:mosoriocabrera at djusd.net> or by phone (530)757-5400 Ext: 113. If you want to appear in the senior section of the yearbook, you must take your senior photo through Prestige. The cost is $20 if you wish to purchase proofs and select your yearbook photo, or free if you do not wish to purchase proofs.

CLUBS:
DHS BSU will be having meeting every Monday at lunch in room P-11. Come and enjoy free food, and learn more about cultural diversity.

DHS newly established Pre-Med Club is having its first meeting Monday, October 9th in room S-1. Come join to hear from guest speakers in media fields that you might be interested in and to participate in health- related activities.
There will be a Model United nations meeting on Tuesday in P-25.

Guten Tag! Interested in the German Culture and language? Join the German Club today at lunch in room P-13. We hope to see you there!

Want to taste some tamales, do some Zumba, and practice your Spanish? Come to Señora Candelario's room O-6 this Thursday during lunch for Spanish Language and Culture Club!
CAREERS:
SENIORS:  Need free money for college?  Then you should come to the DHS FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP on Thursday October 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the theater.  At the workshop you'll learn about the many types of student financial aid and how to complete financial aid applications.  All seniors and their parents are invited to attend.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Are you interested in studying abroad over the summer and on a scholarship?  If so, come to the Career Center this Friday, October 6 at lunch to hear an information session from CIEE about their high school study abroad summer programs all over the world.  Study abroad can help you earn college credits, community service hours, explore different countries and learn new languages.  See you in the Career Center Friday at lunch!
