Tryouts for DSHS Winter teams are beginning over the next two weeks. Specific team tryout info is available on the DSHS website Athletics page. DHS ski and snowboard swap Sunday Nov. 12 - 9am-2pm in the DHS South Gym near the quad. New and used ski and snowboard equipment and clothing.  Admission is $3 for the first two hours, free after 11 a.m.  Proceeds benefit the DHS ski team.  Have something to sell or donate? DHS Boy's Lacrosse Info Night will be held on November 7 in the DHS Library at 7pm. We will be going over important information about the upcoming lacrosse season. We encourage all prospective and returning players and their parent to attend this meeting. All are welcome!
ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
Omigod! It's finally here! DHS Drama Department's fall musical Legally Blonde, will be opening this Friday, November 3rd at 7 p.m. in the Brunelle Performance Hall. The shows will run the next two weekends and student tickets are $10. We can't wait to see you there!

DSHS will host the SAT on Saturday, November 4th. Arrive to N-04 at 7:45am to get your room assignment. You must have your registration ticket and photo ID to enter. Photo ID on cell phone will not be accepted. Remember to bring your calculator. Test begins promptly at 8am - NO late entry. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Save the DATE: DHS Upcoming Climate Meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 7th at Lunch. More information to come next week.
Attention Senior Parents! Can you believe it is already time to start thinking about Grad Night? Grad Night tickets are now on sale. Every graduating senior in Davis (DaVinci, DSIS, King and DHS) is welcome to celebrate at this All-night, alcohol and drug free party on Friday, June 8th from 9:30 pm- 5:00am. Visit davisgradnight.org<http://davisgradnight.org>  to purchase tickets. Tickets are $75.00 until February 1st. So get your tickets before prices go up. Ticket includes all activities, food, and raffle entry.
Seniors, Prestige Photography will be on campus on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 to take senior photos.
If you have not taken your senior photos please make sure to contact Marlen Cabrera, VP Secretary right away via email mosoriocabrera at djusd.net<mailto:mosoriocabrera at djusd.net> or by phone (530)757-5400 Ext: 113. If you want to appear in the senior section of the yearbook, you must take your senior photo through Prestige. The cost is $20 if you wish to purchase proofs and select your yearbook photo, or free if you do not wish to purchase proofs.

Spring break in Costa Rica: The deadline for signing up for the trip to Costa Rica will be November 15.  Please see Courtenay Tessler in counseling if interested.

CLUBS:
Trivia Bowl! Trivia Bowl is a super fun competition where students have to answer questions from a variety of categories. The team that answers the most questions and wins the most games will win their own prize. For more info, come pick up an application from N-1A, the Student Government room. All applications are due by Nov 9.

Do you have a special talent that you would like to showcase? Pick up an application for DHS factor in N-1A. Applications are due on November 8th, so get them ASAP!

Guys, gals, and non-binary pals! The GSA will be having a meeting this Friday at lunch in Mr. Moore's room P-21, on the second floor near the elevator. We will see you there!

Interested in a future medical career? The Pre- Med Club will be inviting a guest speaker on Friday, November 3rd. Come to room S-01 during lunch to learn more about becoming a Pediatrician!

Do you like painting, drawing or helping others? Then come to the first Art for Cure Club meeting next Tuesday, November 7th in L-27 to create art to donate to hospitals.

CAREER:
Sophomores and juniors are invited to apply for one of two Telluride Association's 2018 all-expense paid summer programs.  Each program is a six-week seminar where students explore new academic interests, learn how to thrive in a college environment, improve their reading, writing, critical thinking, leadership and public speaking skills, and develop a sense of community responsibility.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
