Hey DHS! The Digital Media Arts Club is holding a meeting in the photography room A-6 at lunch. We will be looking at popular contemporary photographers like Chris Burkard and Brandon Woelfel and analyzing what makes their photos appealing!

Help the Band get to Carnegie Hall.  The DHS Band Boosters are holding a fundraiser to support the band's trip to New York City at Panda Express today anytime between 11am and 10pm. Have you checked out the new Golden 1 Arena in Sacramento? Now is your chance! Come cheer on the Davis High Varsity Girls & Boys teams as they take on rivals St. Francis & Jesuit on Friday, January 5. Girls play at 6pm and boys play at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from a varsity team member or via the DHS Finance Office and webstore. This is a fundraiser for the DHS basketball programs. See you at the game!

ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
Parking Lots and Lockers: Students, please remember that parking lots are off limits during break, passing periods, and class time.  If you are in need of a locker, there are still plenty of lockers available.  Please come to the attendance office and request a locker.  Remember to bring a lock!
Attention Senior Parents! Can you believe it is already time to start thinking about Grad Night? Grad Night tickets are now on sale. Every graduating senior in Davis (DaVinci, DSIS, King and DHS) is welcome to celebrate at this All-night, alcohol and drug free party on Friday, June 8th from 9:30 pm- 5:00am. Hey CSF, there is a general meeting this Friday, December 8th at lunch in room P-13. There is only 1 more meeting after this. Be sure to attend at least 2 meetings this semester to fulfill active lifetime membership, Hope to see you there!
CAREER:
The next Financial Literacy Class will be held in the Career Center on Friday, December 8 at lunch.  Pizza will be provided.  The DHS PTA, in partnership with the Yolo Federal Credit Union, is hosting the month's class, which will cover how ATM and debit cards work, and ways to prevent identity theft and debit or credit card fraud. The class is limited to 30 students so come to the Career Center soon to sign up.

Are you interesting in community service and volunteering?  If so, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (Davis Post 6949) is accepting volunteers for planning, organizing, and participating in two of their upcoming events:  Community Awards Breakfast on Saturday February 17 and the Veteran and Families Health and Wellness Resource Fair on Sunday March 4.  Volunteers will help with various aspects of these events, including planning, logistics, marketing, networking, social media, speaking, design, graphics, computer related tasks, and more.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
