ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
Parking Lots and Lockers: Students, please remember that parking lots are off limits during break, passing periods, and class time.  If you are in need of a locker, there are still plenty of lockers available.  Please come to the attendance office and request a locker.  Remember to bring a lock!
Attention Senior Parents! Can you believe it is already time to start thinking about Grad Night? Grad Night tickets are now on sale. Every graduating senior in Davis (DaVinci, DSIS, King and DHS) is welcome to celebrate at this All-night, alcohol and drug free party on Friday, June 8th from 9:30 pm- 5:00am. Visit davisgradnight.org<http://davisgradnight.org>  to purchase tickets. Tickets are $75.00 until February 1st. So get your tickets before prices go up. Ticket includes all activities, food, and raffle entry.

Help the band get to Carnegie Hall.  The DHS Band Boosters are holding a fundraiser to support the band's trip to New York City at Panda Express Thursday 12/7 anytime between 11am and 10pm. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment and noticing the thoughts and sensations that arise. Who should practice mindfulness? Everyone who would like to feel calmer, more connected, and generally happier. Mindfulness training will be held in room O-5 every Wednesday from 2:45 to 3:15pm. Hey DHS! The Digital Media Arts Club is holding a meeting this Thursday in the photography room A-6 at lunch. We will be looking at popular contemporary photographers like Chris Burkard and Brandon Woelfel and analyzing what makes their photos appealing!

Hey, hey, hey it's Friendship Day! The next friendship day will be Friday, December 8th and the theme is ugly Holiday sweaters. Enjoy a fun, friendship filled Friday before finals! Turn in your slip by Wednesday, December 6th!
CAREER:

If you are interested in research, come to the Career Center on Tuesday, December 5 at lunch to hear a representative from Pioneer Research Program discuss their college-level research opportunities for high school students. Students work online one-on-one with professors from top colleges to conduct sophisticated research projects that range from the sciences, social sciences, and humanities.  Students earn two college credits upon completion. Come to the Career Center to sign up.



A college admissions representative from Mills College will be in the Career Center on Tuesday, December 5 at 9:15.  Come to this visit to learn more about Mills College in Oakland.


The next Financial Literacy Class will be held in the Career Center on Friday, December 8 at lunch.  Pizza will be provided.  The DHS PTA, in partnership with the Yolo Federal Credit Union, is hosting the month's class, which will cover how ATM and debit cards work, and ways to prevent identity theft and debit or credit card fraud. The class is limited to 30 students so come to the Career Center soon to sign up.
