TODAY: Ever thought about being in a musical? It's that time of year! The DHS Drama Department is excited to put on this year's fall musical, 'First Date!' A fun-filled show that reveals what people are really thinking when it comes to first dates. Auditions run from September 19th - 21st in P-11. See you there!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Come watch the Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 30th starting at 1:15. The parade will start at Central Park and make its way back to DHS.

More great colleges are visiting the Career Center this week, including Boulder, Saint Mary's, John Hopkins, Oregon State, Rice, Scripps and many more! You can find the list of upcoming college visits on Naviance or in the Career Center.
Reminder to all DHS and DaVinci girls interested in playing softball for DHS this spring: There is a parent/player meeting to be held in the DHS Library at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28th. If you have any interest in playing at either the JV or Varsity level, please attend!
The Davis Senior High School Climate Committee is dedicated to fostering positive relationships among all people in the DHS Community. The committee assists school leaders in assessing school climate, as well as identifying and evaluating current programs directed at improving school climate. The committee also develops and implements programs and procedures that promote understanding that is not limited to, differences of race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, cultural background, physical appearance, socio-economic status, and academic achievement.
The Climate Committee meets monthly, and its membership is open to all who are interested in accomplishing the committee's work including students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members. Meetings will take place in the West Conference room of the DHS library.

If your sports team or club wants to be in the Homecoming Parade, pick up the forms in N-1A and contact Mr. Vasquez. This is a great way to show your school spirit and get your name out! Form are due on Wednesday, 9/20.
ACADEMICS: PSAT is Saturday, 10/15!! The cost is $24.00. There are NO Refunds and no transfers. Sales end 10/3. There are a limited number of tests available. OPPORTUNITIES: Biking With Confidence! Pump up your bike skills! Support the Arts at DHS by joining the Brunelle Theater Student Usher Program. Earn volunteer hours, gain customer service skills, and get to see performances for free. All interested students should attend a one hour orientation session, on Oct. 4th at 3:45pm or Oct. 5th at 2:45pm in the lobby at the front of the Brunelle Theater. Students who ushered last year are encouraged to attend the advanced training on Wed. Sept 21st at 2:45 to become a House Manager. The Brunelle Theater is home to over 125 performances and events each year. Come to an orientation and see how you can be involved! All are welcome! No experience necessary!
The number one fear in America is fear of public speaking. We do it for fun! Come join your nationally-ranked Speech and Debate team Wednesdays after school from 8:45 to 4:30 in P-23.
CLUBS: Did you know that a quarter of Americans are part German? Me neither! To learn more facts like this, meet neat people and find out more about German culture and eat free baked German treats, join us every Tuesday at lunch in N-2 for German Club.
Hey Key Clubbers! Registration will end on Tuesday (9/20)! We will be outside Room S-12 during lunch. Please bring $11.50 for the entire year's membership dues and registration and past hours forms. Our first general meeting will be on Wednesday, 9/21 at lunchtime in S-12.
Attention CSF members! I hope you had a great summer! It's time for CSF registration which started on 9/12 and ends 9/23, in front of Ms. O'Brien's room. Please remember to bring $5, your transcript, hour sheet and your green sheet for returning members. The pink and green sheets can be found in N-11, the library and the office. Hope to see you there!
Attention all NHS members! NHS will hold its first semester registration in front of S-12 until September 23. Make sure to register early as it gets crowded in the last day. Bring $5, your report card, student ID and your hours sheet if you are a returning member. Hope to see you!
