TODAY: National Honor Society will hold its first semester registration in front of room S-12, September 6-16. Bring $5, your report card, student ID and hours sheet if you are a returning member.  Make sure you register Hope to see you!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  SENIORS: Counselors will be providing college information about the application process next Thursday, September 8 during lunchtime in the South Gym.   We will discuss the college application process for CSU's, UC's, private colleges, including the letter of rec pack and early action/early decision.  The packet for private colleges will be distributed on this date.  Additional upcoming workshops are:

CSU Workshop September 15 at 7:00 pm in the Brunelle Theater, aka IPAB.
UC Workshop September 22 at 7:00 pm in the IPAB

Davis Senior High School's Career Center is open!  Come to the Career Center for help with college planning, applying for scholarships and financial aid, finding a job, volunteer activities, summer activities, test preparation, study abroad programs, and more!  Students and parents are welcome to visit the Career Center located in the library Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

College visits start this week!  College admissions representatives will visit the Career Center beginning Thursday, September 8 and continue throughout the fall.  College visits are a great way to learn about colleges you may be interested in attending.  The college visit schedule is posted in the Career Center windows and on Naviance.  Students must sign up on Naviance prior to attending a college visit.  Come to the Career Center if you need help with Naviance or for more information about college visits!

DHS cheerleaders host clinic September 18.  The Davis High School cheer team will host a clinic for aspiring cheerleaders ages 6 to 13 on Sunday, September 18, from 1:00-4:00 pm at the DHS South Gym, 315 W. 14th St., Davis.  The cost is $30 in advance at the event, and includes a T-shirt, snacks and beverages, a free ticket to the September 23rd DHS football game vs. the Elk Grove Thundering Herd and a chance to join the Blue Devil cheerleaders in a performance on the field that night. Attention Independent Lifetime Sports Students: If your schedule says you are enrolled in Independent Lifetime Sports for Fall, during 7th period, your first mandatory class meeting date will be Thursday, September 8th during 7th period block, in the small gym.  If you have a free 1st period, you will meet during 1st period.  This meeting is for FALL sports athletes only.  You must be on your Fall team official roster to attend. ACADEMICS: PSAT is Saturday, 10/15!! The cost is $24.00. There are NO Refunds and no transfers. Sales end 10/3. There are a limited number of tests available. OPPORTUNITIES: The Yolo County United Campaign is offering an 8-week internship program to support local and national Democratic candidates in the November General Election.  Student interns will learn how to be a political advocate, community event organizer and much more.  Come to the Career Center for an application.

CLUBS:  If you are interested in astronomy, our solar system and the constellations and their mythology, join our Astronomy Club.  Meetings are in S-2 every other Wednesday at lunch.

Have you ever wanted free baked goods at lunch?  Then come to German Club Tuesdays at lunch for free food and to learn about German culture.  We will be meeting every Tuesday in N-2, Ms. Hamrick's room.  New members are encouraged and we hope to see you there!

Club applications are now available!  Pick one up in the Student Government room (N-1A) and turn it in by September 25th.

Hey prospective Key Clubbers!  We have our introductory meeting on Wednesday, 9/7.  Come learn about Key Club and registration.  As always, we will have free food!

Help us make a positive impact on our community through service and leadership.  Come to the Interact informational meeting in L-28 on Friday at lunchtime on September 9th.  Join Interact, make an impact!

Are you interested in making robots chuck ambiguous objects through the air? Then join the Citrus Circuits Robotics Team! There's a place for everyone! The team is open to all students 9th-12th grade with no prior experience necessary. If you are interested, come to the Citrus Circuits Recruitment Day on September 8th from 6:30-9:00pm in room M-01.

Come join Best Buddies to make friendships that will last forever.  Best buddies creates one-on-one friendships with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Join us Tuesday, September 6 in C-4 across from the Attendance Window.

Do you want to learn the ropes of backstage? Sing loud in front of a crowd or anything in between? If so, the DHS Drama Department is right for you! Come to our info meeting September 7th in room P-11 at lunch to learn more.
