Athletics - There will be a Winter Athlete/Parent meeting on November 14th at 6:30pm in the North Gym.  All students that participate on a winter sports team must attend with at least one parent.

Winter sports tryouts begin November 7th. If you plan to tryout, please make sure to bring your completed sports physical packet to the Athletics Office to get your clearance card. If you are currently participating in a Fall sport, stop by to get a copy of your clearance card to take to your Winter tryout.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: SENIORS:  If you are applying to private colleges, your letter of recommendation packet needs to be given to your counselor and teachers no later than October 31.

Are you looking for a quiet place to study or need a computer?  Come to the Internet After Hours Program at the DHS Library.  We are open every Monday through Thursday from 5:00 - 7:15 pm.  All DJUSD students and their families are welcome.

Due to the rainy weather forecast for Thursday, October 27, the DHS Baroque Ensemble's barbecue fundraiser to benefit their upcoming summer trip to Austria and Italy has been modified. We will have a limited number of $15/per plate of tri-tip dinners available for purchase at the corner of the DHS parking lot by the Brunelle Performing Arts Building. Food will be hot and ready starting at 5:30pm-first come, first serve.

Students, bus passes are sold in the Finance Office at lunchtime only.  $6 will buy a 10 ride pass, $25 will buy a month's pass.  Cash only, please!

OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: Boo!! Halloween is right around the corner.  Make sure to wear your school appropriate costumes to school on Monday for a chance to win a prize in the costume contest at lunch on the quad.  No weapons, masks or clowns!

Calling all thrill seekers!  This Saturday, October 29th from 8:00 pm to midnight, you can come to the student-run haunted house, Disturbia at 620 Estrella Place in Davis.  Tickets are $5 at the door.  Get ready to be scared - are you brave enough to enter the Disturbia haunted house?

Acme Theater presents: 'Pronoun' by Evan Placey, a love story about transition, testosterone and James Dean.  Auditions will be held November 8-10 in Room S-1 and are open to current 9-12th grade students.  For more information and to sign up for an audition slot, go to

Are you looking for a job?  Regal Movie Theaters is hiring for the holidays!  Come to the Career Center for a job flyer.

If you have not seen Carmen to set up an appointment for your senior portrait, please do it right away.  Last day to do it will be this Friday, October 28th.
The DHS Blackout shirts are still available to purchase.  They are $5.  Come by the Athletic Department to purchase your black-out shirt while supplies last!

Cabin Leaders are needed for the Walker Creek trip from November 28 - December 2 for Korematsu Elementary.  Come to the Career Center for an application.

CABIN LEADERS are needed for North Davis Elementary School's trip to Walker Creek January 9-13. Applications are available in the Career Center.  The deadline to apply is November 2.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a dodgeball!  The Annual Dodgeball Tournament is coming up!  Come get permission slips in N-1A (due 10/28).  Have teams of 6-9; you can win awesome shirts and a trophy with your name engraved.

Can you pogo stick? Can you do aerobic hacky sack while singing?  Got hecka guitar skills?  Do you have the voice of an angel?  Then you should sign up for DHS Factor.  DHS Factor is a talent and variety show and will be on November 18th.  Applications are due in N1-A by November 2.

CLUBS: This Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm, the Genders and Sexualities Alliance present the Rocky Horror Picture Show in our first movie night of the year.  Admission is free and snacks will be provided.

Hey Key Clubbers!  Our yearbook photo has been changed to Friday at 12:15 pm in front of Brunelle Theater.  Wear black, yellow or a Key Club shirt if you can!  Hope to see you all there!

Hello CSF! There is a general meeting this Friday at lunch in Room P-13.  Reminder:  You need to attend two meetings per semester in order to qualify for lifetime membership.  Hope to see you there!

This year's Club Fair is Tuesday, November 8.  If you are a member of a club and would like your club to participate, pick up an application in N1-A.  Applications are due Tuesday, November 1.
