The Football program wants you! Come out on Friday Oct. 21st for the last home game of the year and show our seniors some love. The football team is asking you to participate in the 1st ever Senior Blackout night. Everyone please dress from head to toe in black. This game is sure to have huge playoff implications so your spirit is needed! See you at the game.
Athletics - There will be a Winter Athlete/Parent meeting on November 14th at 6:30pm in the North Gym. All students that participate on a winter sports team must attend with at least one parent.
Winter sports tryouts begin November 7th. If you plan to tryout, please make sure to bring your completed sports physical packet to the Athletics Office to get your clearance card. If you are currently participating in a Fall sport, stop by to get a copy of your clearance card to take to your Winter tryout.
TODAY: Hey Key Clubbers! We have a general meeting today in Room S-12 at lunch. We will have projects and food! Also, the t-shirts are in! If you ordered a t-shirt, come pick it up!
Are you interested in telescopes and astronomy? If so, come to S-2 on Wednesday, October 19th for Astronomy Club at lunch. We will be making telescopes! Hope to see you there!
Today is the Best Buddy matching party! This is a mandatory meeting for all members. The meeting will be held in C-4 at lunch.
Tonight, October 19th at the Richard Brunelle Theater from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, the Davis Parent University will present Ron Lieber, NY Times columnist and bestselling author of "The Opposite of Spoiled." This lecture will cover raising financially literate kids who are more generous and less materialistic. Free tickets are available through davisparentuniversity.com to reserve and view past lectures. Doors open at 6:15 pm.

On Thursday, October 27 the DHS Baroque Ensemble will be holding a barbecue fundraiser to benefit their upcoming summer trip to Austria and Italy. Come to the corner of the DHS parking lot by the Brunelle Performing Arts Building between 5:30-7:00pm and enjoy a delicious $15/plate tri-tip or chicken dinner that will be barbecued right here on the DHS campus! The Baroque students will even provide music to dine by. Want to help the library give access to homebound residents and even volunteer hours? Come to the Book Access Club at lunch on Wednesday in L-28.
ACADEMICS: SENIORS: Did you miss the Financial Aid Workshop? If so, come to the Career Center to pick up financial aid materials that were handed out at the event.
OPPORTUNITIES: Cabin Leaders are needed for the Walker Creek trip from November 28 - December 2 for: Patwin Elementary, Korematsu Elementary and Montgomery Elementary. Come to the Career Center for an application.
Can you pogo stick? Can you do aerobic hacky sack while singing? Got hecka guitar skills? Do you have the voice of an angel? Then you should sign up for DHS Factor. DHS Factor is a talent and variety show and will be on November 18th. Applications are due in N1-A by November 2.
CLUBS: Do you like to write? Want to meet people who like to write too, talk to local authors and attend literary events? Join Creative Writing Club Mondays at lunch in Classroom L-28.
The results are in! The winners of this year's car club t-shirt design contest are: Farhan Billah and David Gonzalez! They will receive a free car club t-shirt and a free oil change courtesy of Car Club. The club would also like to recognize Serena Wilson for her awesome drawing of our 1964 Lincoln Continental. Thank you, Serena!
The Red Cross Club is planning for the first blood drive of the year on Friday, 10/21 in the North Gym. Giving blood takes approximately one hour from start to finish and is safe and easy. To donate blood, you must be at least 16, weigh at least 110 and be free from cold/flu symptoms for at least 48 hours. If you are interested in donating, please sign up at the quad at lunch this week or at the nurse's office by Thursday, 10/20. Parent permission slips are required for 16 and 17 year olds. Walk-ins are accepted only if you are 18 or older. For more information, see Ms. Youtsey, the school nurse.
