THIS DAY IN HISTORY:   2011 - NASA announced the development of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) spacecraft. It is intended to facilitate exploration of the Moon, asteroids and Mars.

ATHLETICS:  Tennis enthusiasts...it's that time of year to gear up for the DHS Girls Tennis Team. There will be a girls' tennis team meeting on Wednesday, May 25 at 6:00 at DHS room, N-08. We are happy to announce that we will be having a Varsity AND JV team next year so be sure and come to our meeting! You can be a beginner and start on the JV! Past players, parents and newbies, please plan on attending. There will be important tryout dates announced

$20 benefits Davis High Athletic Department. Sports packets available on the DHS website athletics page or in the secondary school offices. Get your sports physical early and be ready for 2016-17 athletics!

TODAY: All students signed up for AP US History next year: please come to the library at the beginning of lunch on Tuesday, May 24th.  You will be picking up the Summer Assignment and checking out the APUSH textbook (bring your student ID).  See you there!

Juniors/Sophomores: Pick up your prepaid yearbook TODAY at lunch in the South Gym.  If you still need to purchase one, go to the Finance Office window with a check for $100 made out to DHS.

JUNIORS: Counselors will be meeting in the Career Center on Tuesday, the 24th at lunch to answer any questions you have about applying to college, and asking for letters of recommendation.  Also, UCs have changed their essay questions this year and counselors will have copies of the essay prompts to pass out.  Drop on by!

Football Parents (Frosh, JV & Varsity): please attend a brief information meeting on Tuesday, May 24th at 6:00-6:30 pm in the DHS Library.  We will cover: summer practice, summer schedule, scrimmage, game schedule and team wellness program.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Grad Night Tickets will be sold on campus on Wednesday, May 25th at the theater after the 'Hunting Ground' movie and on Thursday, May 26th during Senior Friendship Day at the Stadium.  The price is $90; see your counselor for scholarship.

Looking for a job this summer?  Konditorei Bakery has a dishwasher position available.  Duties include washing dishes, general cleaning and maintenance.  Pay is $10.00 per hour.  Come to the Career Center

Senior Ball pictures are in and can be picked up at the Front Desk.  Bring ID! Pictures must be in the name of the student picking them up!

Get your kindergarten photos for Grad Night in to the Front Office if you haven't already or submit by email at daviskinderwall at gmail.com<mailto:daviskinderwall at gmail.com>.  Photos are due by June 1.  Don't get left out!  Share your cute photo with all your friends at Grad Night!

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: Attention Link Crew Leaders!  Don't forget May Development Day is Thursday, May 26th, 1:30-3:30 pm in the South Gym.  If you have a seventh period, talk to your teacher and get the makeup work ahead of time.  We are looking forward to preparing for next year.

Attention juniors signed up for English Literature and Composition AP who missed the lunch presentation on May 19; you may check out the required summer reading textbook immediately after 6th period on Tuesday, May 31.  You may obtain the summer reading assignment from Ms. O'Keefe in L-15 at the beginning of any lunch period.
