All students interested in participating in Boys Volleyball this season, there will be mandatory lifting Monday, Wednesday, Thursday beginning the 18th at 11am at DHS and continuing until tryouts on Feb 8th. Please bring your clearance cards to the first session on Monday the 18th.
DHS Swim Coaches will hold a parent information meeting on January 27th at 7:30 pm in the DHS Library to provide details regarding the upcoming season. Swim season begins on February 8th.
Girls Varsity Soccer Informational meeting on Thursday, January 21 at 12:25 in Library. All interested 11th and 12th grade girls soccer athletes should attend.
An informational meeting for JV Girls soccer tryouts will be held on Wednesday, January 20th at 7:30 pm in Room N-8 at DHS. 9th and 10th grade players and parents are invited to attend. Tickets are now on sale for the Annual Football Fundraiser the Gridiron Gala on Saturday, January 30th at Davis Odd Fellows Hall. Tickets are $25 and are available at www.davishighfootball.org The evening features a casual event with appetizers, beverages, and auction items that will give all Blue Devil supporters a chance to socialize, celebrate and raise money to support our team. Enter the raffle to win an iPad Air 2. Raffle tickets are $10 and you do not need to be present at the Gala to win. Raffle tickets may be purchased from a varsity football player and are also available at the Davis Sports Shop whom we thank for their continued support of DHS sports.
TODAY: Key Club registration for the spring term is going on today at lunch in front of S-12! Old members only need to bring their completed fall hours sheet and new members should bring $7 to register! Registration will be going on until Tuesday, 1/26.
ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES: SENIORS: This is the time of year to apply for financial aid to help you pay for college! To be considered for federal and state financial aid, you must apply by March 2. Come to the Career Center for information about the financial aid process.
Davis Idol is coming! Come and hear our DHS students wow us with their signing talent! Tickets are on sale now from any ATC (Advanced Treble Choir) member or at Watermelon Music. Pre-sale tickets for all three nights, January 22nd and 23rd with the finale on January 30th are $22.00. Individual tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Tickets for the red-carpet finale on January 30th are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. There will be fabulous music entertainment all three nights. Tickets frequently sell out so don't miss the fun!
The Davis Homeless Shelter needs your help! Items needed include warm clothes, canned or non-perishable foods and soaps and shampoos. There is a donation box inside the Front Office.
JUNIORS: Would you like to participate in Rotary Club's all-expense paid Camp Royal youth leadership camp this summer? This leadership-training camp for juniors is filled with information, ideas and strategies that will help you become a more effective leader. The deadline to apply is February 12. Come to the Career Center for an application.
JUNIORS: The Rotary Club is sponsoring Camp Venture for juniors, an all-expense paid training and motivational summer camp for juniors interested in pursuing a career in business, particularly as entrepreneurs. The camp will be held at CSU Maritime Academy in June. The deadline to apply is February 12. Come to the Career Center for an application.
