IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Get a Haircut - for Jilly's Sake! Creative Hair & Spa of Davis will host a fundraiser on Sunday, March 6, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Jillian Foster Trust. Owner Luz Gomez will open her salon on a Sunday so she and fellow stylists Lucero Gomez, Ferideh Biashad, Josie Avila, Daniella Reyes and Lisa Trosper can host this fundraiser. They will offer haircuts, manicures, pedicures and brow waxing, on a walk-in basis, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteers will collect the funds (cash and checks only), and ensure that 100 percent of the proceeds go to the trust. The salon is at 1520 E. Covell Blvd., Suite 1, Davis (next to Nugget). Davis High School sophomore Jillian Foster broke her back and suffered spinal trauma in a Feb. 8 ski accident at Boreal. The community is doing all it can to support the 16-year-old's medical bills, rehabilitation, and the modifications needed to make her Davis home wheelchair-accessible. Attention all students!  Pre-sale tickets for the spring play, 'The Eden Project' will be sold next week at the Finance Window during lunch!  Tickets will also be available at the door at the performances on March 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th, 12th at 7:00 pm and March 6th at 2:00 pm.  Student tickets are $8.

Sacramento State College of Engineering and Computer Science is hosting an Engineering & Computer Science Expo on March 12 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.  The expo will feature numerous interactive activities, projects and the annual Robot Rumble.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

PSAT score reports are now available to pick up in the Career Center.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: Come and see the world premiere of 'The Eden Project.'  You will love this out of the world sci-fi play!  It premieres this Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm in the IPAB!  Tickets are $8 for students with ID and can be purchased at the Finance Window during lunch or at the door. Wee wooo weee wooo weee wooo weee-oooooooo! Have a burning desire to be a Friendship Day Facilitator?  Then today is your lucky day!  Pick up an application to be a Friendship Day Facilitator from Mr. Williams' room, P-14 or the Front Office and turn them in by March 18th.

Acme Auditions for Scapino, March 9-12 for Grades 9-12: Acme Theatre Company invites all 9th thru 12th grade students to audition for Scapino - a fast-paced, slapstick-y story of pirates, sneaky servants, kidnappings, and love conquering all!  Auditions will take place March 9 - 12. Rehearsals will be after school, March 28 - May 27.  Performances of this FREE Comedy in the Park, will take place Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-30, at the Davis Arts Center Outdoor Stage, 1919 F St, Davis. The City of Davis has two part-time summer jobs available in their aquatics department for a lifeguard and a swim instructor. Come to the Career Center for a more information and a flyer for each job.

It's College Tour time!  The City of Davis is offering its annual So-Cal College Tour Trip for high school students.  Colleges on the tour are UC Santa Cruz, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UC Santa Barbara, University of Southern California, California Institute of the Arts and Claremont McKenna College.  The trip will take place the week of March 21-24.  Cost is $500 which includes transportation, college tours, breakfast, dinner and hotels.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Attention students interested in AVID.  Please pick up an application in the Front Office, the library or in N-1.  Applications are due by Friday, March 4th to Ms. McInturf or the box in the office.  Please visit N-1 with any questions.

Attention AP Students: AP exams are available for purchase in the Webstore now!  $97 per test.  No refunds, so purchase carefully.  In-person sales are March 7-11 @ lunch only at the Finance Office outside window.

The Davis Homeless Shelter needs your help!  Items needed include warm clothes, canned or non-perishable foods and soaps and shampoos.  There is a donation box inside the Front Office.

Seniors! We need you! Are you interested in giving a speech to your graduating class during the ceremony?  Please ask Ms. Carmen Schnathorst for a Graduation Speech Application.  The application and typewritten speech are due April 1, 2016 by 4p.m.  Finalists will be invited to a live audition the week of April 11, 2016. Speakers will be chosen and notified by April 22, 2016.

SENIORS:  March 2 is the deadline to apply for federal and state financial aid for college.  Don't miss out on getting free money for college!  If you have any questions about completing financial aid applications, come to the Career Center.

Create some memories and take Yearbook next year!  Information and applications are available in L-28.
