THIS DAY IN HISTORY:  1998 - J.K. Rowling's book "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" was released in the U.S. This was the first book in the Harry Potter series.

Students: Please join us for the first home JV & Varsity football games on Friday night vs. Woodcreek.  Students with DSHS ASB cards are FREE!  Please remember our stadium rules:  NO backpacks, bags, skateboards are allowed in the stadium.  NO Re-entry.  NO outside food or drink. (Sealed water bottles are OK)


TODAY: Are you interested in international affairs?  Come "Russian" on over to Model UN this Thursday, September 1st in P-25, Mr. Haws' room.  There will be lots of "Swede" treats!

The DHS Car Club will hold its first meeting at lunch on Thursday, September 1st in O-3.  You're invited!  The DHS Car Club is for students who are passionate about cars.  Past club activities have included field trips, car care days and the Devil Day Car Show.  Come check out car club this year and bring your ideas and energy!

Attention Independent Lifetime Sports Students: If your schedule says you are enrolled in Independent Lifetime Sports for Fall, during 7th period, your first mandatory class meeting date will be TODAY Thursday, September 8th during 7th period block, in the small gym.  If you have a free 1st period, you will meet during 1st period.  This meeting is for FALL sports athletes only.  You must be on your Fall team official roster to attend. CLUBS:  Club applications are now available!  Pick one up in the Student Government room (N-1A) and turn it in by September 25th.

Come join Environmental Club this Friday at lunch in S-10 for the first informational meeting.

Are you interested in making robots chuck ambiguous objects through the air? Then join the Citrus Circuits Robotics Team! There's a place for everyone! The team is open to all students 9th-12th grade with no prior experience necessary. If you are interested, come to the Citrus Circuits Recruitment Day on Setpember 8th from 6:30-9:00pm in room M-01.

Come join Best Buddies to make friendships that will last forever.  Best buddies creates one-on-one friendships with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Join us Tuesday, September 6 in C-4 across from the Attendance Window.

National Honor Society will hold its first semester registration in front of room S-12, September 6-16. Bring $5, your report card, student ID and hours sheet if you are a returning member. Hope to see you!
