TODAY: The DHS PTA will be hosting an upcoming Parent Education Presentation. It will be a free event for both students and parents---"Stress Management for Teens," on Nov. 18, 2015 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Brunelle Theater at DHS.
Come to the Black Student Union (BSU) on Wednesday, November 18th in T-4 (near the track). Everyone is welcome!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Seniors: Need free money for college? Then come to the DHS Financial Aid Workshop on Tuesday, December 1 at 7:00 pm in the IPAB. At the workshop, you will learn about the many sources of student financial aid and how to complete financial aid applications. All seniors and their parents are invited to attend. Come to the Career Center for more information.
The day is almost here for DHS Factor! The walk-through rehearsal is on Wednesday from 2:45 to 4:30. Dress rehearsal is on Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30. Both rehearsals are in the IPAB. Friday, the show is on at 7:00 pm! $5 with ASB and $7 without.
Winter Ball tickets are on sale this week! Tickets will be sold for $20 w/ ASB and $25 without. Tickets are on sale now online and in person at the Finance Office window at lunchtime only. You must have your dance contract on file. If you are bringing a guest, guest passes are available in the Front Office and must be turned in at least two days before purchasing your tickets. Hurry in and buy your tickets before prices go up!
Are you interested in winning two free tickets to Winter Ball? Ask a partner or a friend to be your date to Winter Ball in a creative way! SENIOR ADS FOR YEARBOOK: Seniors, let your parents know it's time to submit a senior ad for the yearbook. Deadline for ads is Friday, January 8. Parents can upload text and photos to the link on the school website and the yearbook staff will do the rest!
YEARBOOK SALES: This is a year to remember-and with a yearbook, you will always have these special memories at hand! Purchase a yearbook online for $75 until Friday, January 8. ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES: Care about the environment and want to do something about it? Create a five to ten minute entertaining video that will educate your peers about school recycling processes. Take advantage of this the opportunity to win $100, demonstrate your creativity, and earn community service hours. Submission deadline is December 7th. Further information can be found on the Davis Farm to School website or you can look at the blue Video Contest flyer posted around campus or see Ms. Leti in C-4.
It's that time of year again! DHS Idol is coming soon and applications are now available in PA-8. Spots are limited, so pick one up to turn in by Tuesday, December 8. There is a $10 application fee and songs must be under 4 minutes. Winners get $200 along with the coveted title of DHS Idol!
If you are interested in learning about the United States Army, an Army representative will be on the quad at lunch on Thursday November 19 to answer questions about the Army and provide information about college scholarships.
Have you considered what it would be like to live in another country? If so, come to the Career Center at lunch on Thursday, November 19 to hear an AFS Intercultural Programs representative discuss their study abroad and student exchange programs. Scholarships are available to help you make studying abroad a reality.
Blue Devil Book Drive! Bring a book to English class and make a difference for families in need. The Blue Devil Book Drive will benefit the STEAC (Short Term Emergency Aid Committee) Holiday Program. We will accept gently used books for children of all ages: from babies to teenagers. English teachers will have boxes in their rooms for collecting the books during the week before and the week after Thanksgiving Break. Bring one, bring a bunch! All donations will be greatly appreciated. Contact Mrs. Pilon for more information.
CLUBS/EVENTS: Bonjour! It's French Club every other Tuesday in O-4 with the open door. You don't need to speak it or be it. We'll have food so be there dude!
GRAD NIGHT TICKETS ARE HERE! Davis Seniors expecting to graduate should plan to attend this all-night drug and alcohol-free party on Friday, June 10, 2016. Tickets are $75.00 and can be purchased at www.davisgradnight.org. They can also be purchased in person at the college financial aid workshop on Tuesday, December 1, Brunelle Performance Theater, 7-8:30. Prices increase in 2016.
