DHS Cheer is having a Nationals send-off Showcase Friday, March 13th at 5:00 pm.  Performances will begin at 5:05 pm.  Both JV and Varsity will be performing their whole routines.  Anyone, but especially prospective cheerleaders are encouraged to come view and get a chance to see DHS cheer at the height of our season!

TODAY: Are you interested in learning how to become a Physical Therapist? Join the Healthcare Careers Club on Wednesday March 11 at lunch in the Career Center to hear David Harrington, a Physical Therapist at Kaiser discuss his career.  See you in the Career Center at lunch on Wednesday!

Girls' Basketball is in the history books! The girls have advanced to the CIF Regional Tournament!  Come watch the girls in action on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm take on Clayton Valley Charter.  Admission will be charged to all fans.  $9 for adults, $5 for students and seniors.

The Girls Soccer team is playing their 'black-out' soccer game against St. Francis on Wednesday, March 11th.  Wear white on Monday, grey on Tuesday and black on Wednesday.  Be there when the lights go out on St. Francis!

Hey Key Clubbers! We are having a general meeting and elections this Wednesday, March 11th.  Stop by to sign up for projects and vote for next year's officers!  See you all there!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  The artwork of students Emme Van Voorhis, Shawn Rosario, Megan Femling and Tevin Franklin were selected for the Youth in Art Month Show at the Crocker Art museum.  Tevin Franklin won 1st place and Shawn Rosario received an Honorable Mention.  Please join the art department in congratulating them!

-A special thanks to everyone who helped organize the Blood drive this past Friday.  We had a great turnout! As for the results we registered 84 donors and collected 66 pints of life saving blood. We also had 44 NEW donors come out to save a life, woo-hoo!  Great job by the Red Cross club in getting people excited to save lives!

The DHS Dress Swap wants to lend dresses to students so prom is more affordable!  We need dress donations! Please donate gently-used formal gowns to C-4 or the Front Office.   The Dress Swap Event will be after school April 2nd, 6th and 7th.

Seniors, if you are interested in being a student speaker at 2015 Graduation Ceremony, please stop by the Front Office and pick up a Graduation Speech application from Ms. Kimberly Perez.  Application and typewritten speech are due April 2, 2015 by 4:00 pm.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Perez or VP Amelia Hess.

AP Tests can be purchased for $97 each at the DSHS Webstore through March 13th.  Pay securely with a credit or debit card. You will receive instant confirmation of purchase. Please don't wait to the last minute as there may be delays in resolving login difficulties March 11th -13th. ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES:  COMING NEXT WEEK -- THE CAREER CENTER'S ANNUAL SUMMER ACTIVITIES, SCHOLARSHIP AND JOB FAIR!!!  If you're looking for something to do this summer, need a job, or need extra money for college, you won't want to miss this event!  The fair will feature job applications, scholarship applications, and information about volunteering and summer activities.  The fair will take place outside the Career Center on Tuesday, March 17 at lunch. See you there!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN ABOUT SACRAMENTO CITY COLLEGE? Attention! Attention! Attention! All Senior boys! Your chance to become this year's Mr. Blue Devil is here!  The application deadline has been extended to this Friday, the 13th.  Come pick up your application in C-4 for your chance to be THE Mr. Blue Devil and win a pair of Senior Ball Tickets!

The World Language Fair will be held in the South Gym on March 14th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm with Language Booths, Cultural Music/Performances, International Cooking/Cuisine, and a Soccer Skills Challenge!  This event is free!  See you there!

Come see the DHS Spring play 'The Liar.'   "All the world's a stage and all the men and women are merely liars..." Performances are on March 12th,13th  and 14th at 7:00.

This week is the last week to turn in your LEAD Applications!  Remember to get your applications to L-23 or the Front Office by March 13th!

The DHS PTA Nominating Committee is seeking parents interested in serving on the DHS PTA Executive Board for 2015-2016 school year.  We have several open positions for people interested in helping at DHS by serving on the PTA. This is an excellent way to get first-hand information from the high school administration and counseling office staff.  There are 7 association meetings per year and we actively support grant applications from DHS staff that enrich the learning programs for students.
