Come cheer on your Davis Rugby teams this Saturday, March 7th at the Davis HS Stadium.  All three teams are in action with Girls kicking off at 2:00 pm vs. Chico, Varsity Silver at 4:00 pm vs. River City and Varsity Gold at 6:00 pm vs. Vacaville.  It's a 'take NO prisoners' weekend of action! Come be a part of it!

The Girls Soccer team is playing their 'black-out' soccer game against St. Francis next Wednesday, March 11th.  Wear white on Monday, grey on Tuesday and black on Wednesday.  Be there when the lights go out on St. Francis!

DHS Cheer is having a Nationals send-off Showcase Friday, March 13th at 5:00 pm.  Performances will begin at 5:05 pm.  Both JV and Varsity will be performing their whole routines.  Anyone, but especially prospective cheerleaders are encouraged to come view and get a chance to see DHS cheer at the height of our season!

TODAY: Today, Friday, March 6th is the last day to buy AP tests in the Finance Office.   AP tests will be available only via the DHS Webstore until March 13th.

Today is the Blood Drive.  Walk-ins are accepted only if you are 18 or older.  For more information, see Ms. Youtsey, the school nurse.

The first CSF general meeting for the Spring Semester is today, Friday in Room P-13 at lunchtime.  Come for community service projects and club information.  We are in urgent need of volunteers for events this weekend such as Coconut Grove!

Come see the DHS Spring play 'The Liar.'   "All the world's a stage and all the men and women are merely liars..." Opening night is March 6th at 7:00 p m with performances following on March 7th, 12th,13th  and 14th at 7:00.  There will be an additional performance on March 8th at 2:00 pm.

Calling all tall, dark and handsome senior boys! Mr. Blue Devil applications are available in C-4 and are due today, Friday, March 6th.  Come pick one up and fill it out if you would like to be Davis High's next King of the School!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Seniors, if you are interested in being a student speaker at 2015 Graduation Ceremony, please stop by the Front Office and pick up a Graduation Speech application from Ms. Kimberly Perez.  Application and typewritten speech are due April 2, 2015 by 4:00 pm.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Perez or VP Amelia Hess.

AP Tests can be purchased for $97 each at the  DSHS Webstore through March 13th.  Pay securely with a credit or debit card. You will receive instant confirmation of purchase. Please don't wait to the last minute as there may be delays in resolving login difficulties March 11th -13th. ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES:  The list of students accepted into AP Art Studio for 2015-16 is posted in all Art Rooms.

The Art and History of Floral Design may be an option for next year if there are enough sign-ups.  Students may select this course in the student portal:    Code:  #139000

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Pioneer Elementary School needs tutors Tuesdays or Thursdays from 2:45-4:00 to help high need students with homework.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  Do you love to cook?  At the World Language Fair on March 14th, there will be a Master Chef International Cooking Competition.  If you are interested in submitting a dish, come to S-6 to find out more information.

The Cancer Awareness Club is still accepting hats and scarves for chemo patients in Room N-12.

Cancer Awareness Club Fact of the Week: One-fifth of all cancers worldwide are caused by chronic infection; for instance, HPV causes cervical cancer and HBV causes liver cancer.

Cake.  Eat it. German Club meets in N-2 every Monday.  We'll finish watching the baller Wild-West movie, man.  Come!

Lead applications are now available!  Come to L-23 or the Front Office to get the applications.  They are due to L-23 on March 13th.

The DHS PTA Nominating Committee is seeking parents interested in serving on the DHS PTA Executive Board for 2015-2016 school year.  We have several open positions for people interested in helping at DHS by serving on the PTA. This is an excellent way to get first-hand information from the high school administration and counseling office staff.  There are 7 association meetings per year and we actively support grant applications from DHS staff that enrich the learning programs for students.
