IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Thursday, March 5 Articulation Day Bus Schedule:  The T-line will run on its regular schedule for the morning run to the high school.  The afternoon T bus will leave at 12:55.  Also the morning S-line bus from the high school to Holmes and Harper will leave the high school at 8:30 to accommodate students with 1st period at the high school.

Seniors, if you are interested in being a student speaker at 2015 Graduation Ceremony, please stop by the Front Office and pick up a Graduation Speech application from Ms. Kimberly Perez.  Application and typewritten speech are due April 2, 2015 by 4:00 pm.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Perez or VP Amelia Hess.

AP Tests can be purchased two ways and are $97 each.  DSHS Webstore: Tests available for purchase now through March 13th.  Pay securely with a credit or debit card. You will receive instant confirmation of purchase.  Find the link "Pay Online" at the DHS website, http://dshs.djusd.net.  Go to the Dept. "AP Tests" for available tests for purchase. Please don't wait to the last minute as there may be delays in resolving login difficulties March 11th -13th.  For on campus sales: We are accepting cash and checks from March 2nd to March 6th during lunch only in the Finance Office. The Red Cross club is planning for the second blood drive of the year which will take place, Friday, March 6 in the south gym.  Giving blood takes approximately one hour from start to finish and is safe and easy.  To donate blood, you must be at least 16, weigh at least 110 and be free from cold or flu symptoms for at least 48 hours.  If interested, please sign up on the quad at lunch this week or at the nurse's office by Thursday, Mar. 5.  Walk-ins are accepted only if you are 18 or older.  For more information, see Ms. Youtsey, the school nurse.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES:  The deadline to apply for HUB support positions has been extended to Wednesday, March 4th.  Pick up an application in O-1 if you are interested in being a webmaster, photographer, graphic artist, business manager or director of community engagement for the HUB.

Applications are available for the Youth in Government program, an exciting opportunity for high school students to shadow local government officials in the City of Davis and Yolo County.  Applications are in Room C-4 and are due on March 4th.

CLUBS/EVENTS:   This month is Women's History Month!  Did you know women in the U.S. weren't allowed to own a credit card until 1974?  CRAZY!

Cake.  Eat it. German Club meets in N-2 every Monday.  We'll finish watching the baller Wild-West movie, man.  Come!

Hey DHS! Want to get involved in awesome events like Dude Be Nice? Want to help make DHS Campus a friendly environment?  Want to guide peers through difficult times?  Pick up and application for L.E.A.D. in L-23 or the Front Office.  Applications are due on March 13th.

Come see the DHS Spring play 'The Liar.'   "All the world's a stage and all the men and women are merely liars..." Opening night is March 6th at 7:00 p m with performances following on March 7th, 12th,13th  and 14th at 7:00.  There will be an additional performance on March 8th at 2:00 pm.

You are invited to join the Healthcare Careers Club and Teen Health Awareness Club in the Career Center on Tuesday, March 3 at lunch to hear Dr. Christopher Kim, Chief of Head and Neck Surgery at Kaiser, speak about interesting surgeries and careers in his field.  Dr. Kim will also provide tips on how to avoid hearing loss when using IPods and other tech devices.  Snacks will be provided!  See you in the Career Center Tuesday at lunch!

Calling all tall, dark and handsome senior boys! Mr. Blue Devil applications are available in C-4 and are due Friday, March 6th.  Come pick one up and fill it out if you would like to be Davis High's next King of the School!

The DHS PTA Nominating Committee is seeking parents interested in serving on the DHS PTA Executive Board for 2015-2016 school year.  We have several open positions for people interested in helping at DHS by serving on the PTA. This is an excellent way to get first-hand information from the high school administration and counseling office staff.  There are 7 association meetings per year and we actively support grant applications from DHS staff that enrich the learning programs of the students.
