Life of an Athlete presentation: On Thursday, January 29th, at 6:30 pm, internationally recognized human performance
expert, John Underwood, will be speaking at Davis Senior High School North Gym.  Underwood developed the "Life of an
Athlete" program with one goal in mind; educate athletes to live safe and healthy lifestyles to be successful.  His
presentation underscores four topics as they pertain to athletics and performance: chemical abuse, recovery, sleep and
character.  All DHS athletes and parents are encouraged to attend.

Davis Rugby Club plays Jesuit this Friday, January 30th.  Come pack the Davis stadium and cheer on your Davis Boys
Rugby Club as they play at 5:30 pm and 7:15 pm.  Admittance is free.

Football - Anyone interested in football or considering football next year, please join us for a super bowl tailgate on
Wednesday at lunch outside the team room!

Attention all boys 9-12th grades interested in trying out for boys volleyball.  Tryouts are coming up soon.  Come to an
information meeting on Wednesday, February 4th at 4:00 pm in the small gym.  Meet the coaches and get tryout days
and times.  Players and parents are welcome.  Email Ms. Crawford with any questions.

DHS Boys Lacrosse is open. You can register by going to the domain www.dhslax.com which will bring you to the high
school men's lacrosse page on the DLA website. You can also find this page by clicking the tab on the left titled "2015
Davis HS Varsity and JV. Try outs will be held Feb 9-11 all sports paperwork must be turned in prior to try outs.

TODAY:  Do you want to be a math or science tutor?  Come to the MAST, math and science tutors club information
meeting on Tuesday, January 27th in S-9 at lunchtime to join MAST!

The Guitar Club will resume meeting on Tuesdays at 12:00 in P-22 beginning January 27th.

Come join Chinese Club in T-3 to learn about and try traditional Chinese calligraphy on Tuesday, January 27th at lunch.

Audition for DHS Drama's spring play: 'The Liar' by David Ives!  This is your chance to shine without exposing a deep,
inner tone-deaf-ness.  There's an informational meeting today in P-11 from 3:45-4:30 and auditions on Tuesday and
Wednesday after school!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: The DHS Lacrosse team has two student volunteer opportunities available; Game Stadium
Announcer for JV and Varsity home games, and JV Videographer for all JV games.  Volunteers must be mature,
responsible and professional.  Students interested in broadcast journalism, sports and videography are encouraged to
apply.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES:  Come voice your opinion at Student Forum on Wednesday, January 28 in Ms.
Swanstrom's room, L22 at lunchtime.  Treats will be provided!

Need help with Spanish homework?  If so, come to S-6 every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch!

If you are a junior boy or junior girl interested in government, come to the Career Center to apply for the American
Legion Boys State and Girls State all-expense paid summer programs.  Students will actively participate in all phases of
creating and running a working government. Those who apply must be strong academically, have leadership skills, and
have an interest in community and government. Deadline to apply is February 3.  Applications are available in the Career
Center.

Davis High School Orchestra Program Placement Auditions for the 2015-2016 DHS Symphony Orchestra and DHS
Baroque Ensemble will be held on March 2nd through 6th.  Check your school music room for signup sheets and
requirements.  The Signup Deadline is Friday, February 19th.  For questions or schedule conflicts, contact Mr. Moreno
ASAP to work it out.  amoreno at djusd.net.  The audition schedule will be posted on Monday, February 23rd.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  If you signed up for the Student-Staff Basketball Game, please come to a short meeting Wednesday at
lunch in C-4!

Hey Key Clubbers!  Spring registration is going on today at lunch in front of Room S-12.  It will be running until Friday,
2/6.  Old members only need to bring their fall hour sheets and new members should bring $6 to register.

Attention Seniors! This is the last week to purchase your Grad Night 2015 tickets for $75.00.  Beginning February 1,
prices will increase to $90.  Tickets may be purchased online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/905033 or
you may download a ticket reservation form and mail it to the address on the form: Davis Grad Night Reservation Form.

1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men have reported experiencing dating violence between the ages of 11 and 17.  Come learn
how to stop this epidemic on Wednesday, January 28th at lunch in O-1, where a speaker from Empower Yolo will host a
discussion about teen dating violence.  There will be snacks.

Hey there, I can see your constitutional rights aren't the only thing you've been exercising!  Make sure to come vote
either next Thursday, February 5th or Friday the 6th before school, at lunch and after school for Student Government
Elections in Room C-4.

Come check out the dodgeball semi-finals Wednesday at lunch and the finals this Friday at lunch! DODGEBALL!

Get ready for Break the Record Night Spirit Week! Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is Flannel Day, Wednesday is Tropical
Day, Thursday  is Prep Day and Friday is White Out!  If you don't look ridiculous, you aren't doing it right!

Are you interested in a club officer position for next year?  The Healthcare Careers Club will speak about leadership
positions in our next meeting on Wednesday, January 28th at lunch in the Career Center.  If you have been to any
Healthcare Careers Club lectures this year, please come to the meeting!

The Jazz Choir presents the 26th Annual Jazz Choir Cabaret Dinner and Show, "Lights Up," Saturday, February 7th and
Sunday, February 8th at 6:00 pm at Emerson Junior High School.  The event features musical and dance numbers by the
Jazz Choir accompanied by the Jazz Combo and a delicious meal catered by Cracchiolo's.  Tickets are $40 for adults and
$20 for students.  Table seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.  Ticket order forms, a preview of auction

Cabaret Dinner Show?  Enjoy the music and dance of the cabaret at a special concert on Tuesday, February 10th at 6:30
