guide the blind.

The 2015 Boys Lacrosse season is fast approaching.  Visit the team website at www.dhslax.com for information about
registration and tryouts.  Sports physical packets must be cleared by the DHS Athletics Office prior to participation in any
preseason conditioning or tryouts.

TODAY: The Cancer Awareness Club is having a meeting Friday at lunch in Room N-12.  All are welcome.

For students interested in running for class and ASB positions, there will be an informal meeting about elections at lunch
on Friday in C-4.  This is your opportunity to ask questions and learn more about elections.  Hope to see you there!

Hello CSF Members!  We will be having our last meeting of the first semester on Friday at lunch in P-13.  Be sure to come
if you need another meeting to fulfill your requirements.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Reminder to Winter ILS Students: Assignment #4 is due this Friday.  Email your
instructor with any questions.

Prom pictures are here! Bring your student ID to the Front Desk to pick them up!

PSAT Scores are in the Career Center.  Bring your photo ID.

Please place recycle materials in proper containers.  The cardboard bin is near the trash dumpster.  If you don't know,
please ask somebody.  Davis Waste Removal will not dump containers with improper materials.

Attention AP students: AP exams are available for purchase in the Webstore now! $97.00 per test.  NO refunds, so
purchase carefully!  Stay tuned for more information, including dates for in person sales in March.

Attention all DHS students: DHS sweats are now available for purchase from the FINANCE OFFICE at lunchtime!
Sweatshirts are available in Royal Blue, Grey and Navy and come in either hoodie or crew-neck styles.  Sweatpants are
available in Royal Blue only.  The cost for the hoodie is $20, crew neck sweatshirts and sweatpants are $15.  Purchase
quick before they sell out!

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES:  VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:  Pioneer Elementary needs tutors for their
afterschool program on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Tutors must have basic skills in 6th grade
math, writing and other subjects to help students with their homework for an hour.  Come to the Career Center for
more information.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY:  Davis Media Access is offering a four-month, non-paid internship where students can gain
hands-on experience and exposure to many aspects of community television production, including video coverage of
DJUSD events.  Interns must be at least 16 years old and able to work 3-6 hours per week.  The deadline to apply is
January 16.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Are you interested in learning about the United States Navy?  If so, come to the Career Center on Tuesday, January 13 at
lunch to meet with a Navy representative.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  A new club, The Classical Music Appreciation Society, will meet on Tuesday, January 13th in Mr. Oster's
room P-22.  This will mostly be an informational meeting, but bring a CD of a favorite piece of classical music to share
with the group.

Dude, be nice!  Make sure to be on campus and in the North Gym on January 22nd!  There will be a person recognized at
DHS for their hard work!

Cancer Awareness Club Fact of the Week: About 70,000 adolescents and young adults, ages 15 to 39 years are diagnosed
with cancer in the U.S. each year.  We would also like to thank everyone who donated to our Toy Drive.  We donated 80
toys to the UC Davis Children's Hospital for the holidays!

Feminism Club's Supply Drive started on Monday, December 15th and ends January 16th.  The Supply Drive supports the
Empower Yolo Organization, formerly known as the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center.  Boxes to donate
items will be around campus; look for them in your classrooms and the Front Office.

Come see your friends perform at Davis High Idol hosted by the Advanced Treble Choir.  If you are interested in
participating, applications are available in PA-8.  Davis Idol will be held in the Brunelle Hall on January 23rd, 24th and
31st at 7:00 pm.  See you there!
