Interested in playing DHS baseball this spring?  Pre-season conditioning begins on Tuesday, January 5 @ 4:00 pm.  Bring your cleats, glove and running shoes.  Sports physical packets must be on file with the Athletics Office prior to participating.  If you turned it in for a Fall or Winter sport, stop by the Athletics Office to pick up a copy to take to baseball.  Questions? Blue Devil Basketball and the Sacramento Kings make a great team! Come watch our Varsity Blue Devils take on their rivals St. Francis & Jesuit on Friday, January 8th. Games will be played at Sleep Train Arena: Girls Varsity @ 6:00pm and Boys Varsity @ 7:30pm. Tickets are $30 which includes both our January 8th game and the February 24th Sacramento Kings vs San Antonio game. Do you want to be part of the fastest growing sport in America?  Do you want to participate in a sport that is fun as well as challenging?  Do you want to go on tour to Southern California and Canada and possibly Las Vegas?  Rugby is the sport for you!  Rugby will be played in the Summer Olympic Games and the U.S. is poised to medal with its 7 on 7 team.  Colleges across the United States are now offering scholarships in this great sport.  Try us out this weekend! We have a Rugby Camp that is compulsory for student athletes who want to play in the upcoming season.  The camp is located at Hall's Park in Dixon on Saturday, 12/12 and Sunday, 12/13 from 9:00-3:00.  There are teams for both men and women.  We are also training by running Pena Adobe Ridge in Vacaville on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  We meet in Dixon at Tremont Elementary School at 3:45 located at 355 Pheasant Run Dr., Dixon, CA  95620.  Rick Kaufman is organizing carpools from Davis and Woodland. TODAY: There will be an informational meeting today, Friday, December 11 for those students interested in the AP Art Studio classes next year.  Examples of portfolios will be shared and questions about the application process will be addressed.  The meeting will be held in A-1 during lunch.  Feel free to bring your lunch.

Spread some holiday cheer and show someone special you care, buy candy cane grams today at lunch in the quad!  Remember, you can address grams from anyone and to anyone!

Ho ho ho! It's that time again! Today is the ugliest holiday sweater day! Are you ready for a jolly good time this break?

The Gay Straight Alliance will hold its final meeting of the semester today at lunchtime in L-20, Mr. Wheeler's classroom (the classroom at the top of the 'Love Boat' stairs.)  All Blue Devils are always welcome in the GSA as it is a supportive and dynamic club.  Come for the cookies, stay for the community, get involved.

Interested in Astronomy?  Come to the Astronomy Club hosted guest lecture from a UCD Physics Professor about his upcoming NASA project focused on a Boeing 747 aircraft modified with a telescope.  The event will be held in Room S-10 today, Friday at 4:00 pm.

The Davis Homeless Shelter needs your help!  Items needed include warm clothes, canned or non-perishable foods and soaps and shampoos.  There is a donation box inside the Front Office.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES: If you liked 'Band Geeks,' here's your chance to get on stage!  'A Tribute to Tony Fields' is a pop music musical with fun songs and choreography.  Come and audition for this awesome show!  Auditions are January 12th at 4:00 pm and January 13th at 3:00 pm in P-11.

The Drama Department wants you to audition for the spring play, 'The Eden Project,' an original sci0fi play written by a UCD alum.  Auditions are on January 6th and 7th in P-11 at 3:00 pm.  You won't want to miss this!

GRAD NIGHT TICKETS ARE HERE! Davis Seniors expecting to graduate should plan to attend this all-night drug and alcohol-free party on Friday, June 10, 2016. Tickets are $75.00 and can be purchased at www.davisgradnight.org. Prices increase in 2016.  Students needing financial assistance should contact their counselor.  Questions?
