IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Students - Please be aware and stay safe walking home.  Walk with a friend and stay on
the sidewalks when possible or close to the street.

TODAY:  The DHS Health Awareness Club is meeting on Tuesday, October 7th during lunch in S-5.  We will be planning
and discussing upcoming events.  To learn more, please check our website or contact us at dhsthac at gmail.com.

Look around the room - chances are, at least two of your classmates may have depression, anxiety or other mental
illness.  Don't let them suffer alone.  Go to P-23 during lunch on Tuesday, October 7th for Mental Health Awareness Club
and discover how you can make a difference at this school.

Join us at our Chinese Club first general meeting at lunchtime on Tuesday, October 7 at T-3 to learn and experience
traditional Chinese blowing paint!  All materials are provided so just come and enjoy!

Tonight at 7:00 pm in the IPAB, hear Dr. John Chuck will present a talk: 'Going Retro' College: Reintroducing
Considerations of Substance, Value, & Family in the College Selection Process.  This talk will explain why California
community colleagues and public universities are an excellent FIRST CHOICE for many high school students.

PSAT online registration is open to 10th graders.   Online sales for 10th and 11th graders ends on Wednesday, October
15th - NO EXCEPTIONS.  Also, in person sales will be held today, October 6th through October 10th DURING LUNCH
ONLY in the Finance Office (not the window).  Bring Student ID! $24.00 - NO REFUNDS.

SENIORS: Make sure you're thinking about senior ads in the yearbook.  The deadline for early bird prices is October 31st.
Pick up order forms online or in P-27, Mr. Achimore's room.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS:  Confused about a math problem or have a big chemistry test?  MAST is finally up and running in
S-9 at lunchtime, Monday through Thursday for test prep and homework help.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  Do you like money?  Why spend it on friends when you can get friends for free at Friendship Day?  Turn
in your permission slip to the office by this Thursday, October 9th or bring it with you to Friendship Day!

Montgomery Elementary School still needs Cabin Leaders for their trip to Walker Creek from December 1-5.  Come to
the Career Center THIS WEEK to pick up an application.

It's LGBT History Month!  Did you know that LGBT youth are twice as likely to be assaulted at school?

MORP is this Friday! Get those costumes ready and your dancing shoes on! Tickets are available in the Finance Office
during lunch for $5 with ASB or $7 without.  You can also pay at the door for $10.  Make sure you have a dance contract
on file or turn one in!

Where can you meet Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, Cinderella and her Prince and Jack with his beanstalk?  At DHS
Drama's fall musical, 'Into the Woods' performed on November 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th and 15th at 7:00 in the IPAB!  There
will be another performance on November 9th at 2:00 pm.  Be careful what you wish for!
