SENIOR Workshop: "Everything you want to know about the first 6 weeks of college." To learn about the danger signs of
substance usage in college, come to the Career Center today, May 21 (Wednesday) during lunchtime.
The UCD Alcohol/tobacco/& other drug intervention services coordinator and UCD students will present.

Robots!  Interested in electronics, engineering, robotics, programming, business, media or design?  Come to the Citrus
Circuit recruitment meeting this Wednesday, May 21st from 3:45 to 6:00 pm at Da Vinci High School, Room 19.  See you
there!

SENIORS:  Graduating Seniors- If you have not requested your cap and gown, please see Mrs. Perez in the office.  For any
questions relating to Graduation, please see Mrs. Perez in the office.

There will be a senior Friendship Day this Thursday, May 22nd, during 3rd and 5th periods.  Come to the stadium after
1st period.  Be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen and wear clothing you can run in!  Holla for a dolla Honey Boo
Boo Child!

SENIORS:  Have you received any scholarships or awards not administered by the Career Center, such as scholarships
from colleges or outside organizations?  If so, come to the Career Center and sign the "Outside Award" list.  These
awards will be announced at Senior Awards Night on Tuesday, June 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the theater.

Seniors!  If you ordered graduation announcements, shirts or sweatshirts and haven't yet picked them up, come to the
Career Center this week to get them!

Sing at graduation by joining the Senior Choir!  We will be singing "Five for Fightings' 100 Years.   The group will be led by
Mr. Zinn.  Rehearsals will be held at lunch on Thursdays in Room PA8.  Pick up sheet music in PA8 or from the counter by
the Front Desk!

Don't forget to request your FINAL TRANSCRIPT to be sent to the college you will be attending. Bring in a stamped
addressed envelope to the Transcript Counter and follow the posted instructions. If your common application college is
requesting submission of a final report, you need to make a request at the transcript counter.  A stamped, addressed
envelope is not needed.

Don't forget to fill out a PERMANENT ADDRESS CARD if you haven't already. Turn in completed cards to the Front Desk
or Counseling Office.

ACADEMICS/COLLEGE INFO:   Davis High AVID Awards are here!  Please come to the library to recognize our outstanding
AVID students, Thursday, May 22nd at 7pm in conjunction with the Renaissance Awards.  All students and their family
members are invited, including of course, current and former AVID students.  There will be refreshments!

MISCELLANEOUS:  JOB OPPORTUNITY:  Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District has a temporary one-year clerical
position available in their Davis office.  Duties include general clerical duties, hours are Monday-Friday 2-5, pay is $11.87
per hour.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  Next week is Powderpuff Spirit Week!  There is no school on Monday, Memorial Day but Tuesday is
Tacky Tourist Tuesday, Wednesday is Wonder Wednesday aka Super Wednesday, on Powderpuff Thursday, seniors wear
blue, juniors wear white and sophomores wear black.  Friday is ER Day!

Feminism Club invites the community to the free screening of the movie "Miss Representation" on Friday, May 23rd at
7:00 pm on campus in PA-8.  There will be food and drinks.

The Gay-Straight Alliance will meet Friday in L-28 to elect officers for the next school year.  Come exercise your democratic privilege.

Car fanatics, you're in luck. The application deadline for this year's Devil Day car show has been extended to Friday, May
23rd. The show is May 28th on the quad. Pick up and return your application to O-3 or the front office.  Don't wait!

The Davis Homeless Shelter needs your help!  Items needed:  Soap, shampoo, lotion, canned food.  There is a drop-off
bin for donations inside the Front Office.  Thank you for your help!

GRAD NIGHT 2014: Seniors! Grad night tickets are available online at davisgradnight.org or you can download the form
and mail it in with a check.   If you are not sure if you have already bought your ticket, check the list at the Front Desk.
Tickets are now $90 and cover all Grad night activities, food/drinks and prizes!  Prices will increase in June and
scholarship tickets are available through the Counseling Office.

Attention Parents of All Students (regardless of grade)! We need Parent Volunteers for Grad Night We need decorators,
check-helpers, event monitors, poker and black jack dealers, raffle workers, café workers and security assistants. If you
have a truck, mini-van or SUV, we also need help transporting supplies to Grad Night.  Please sign up at
