THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1999 - After living atop an ancient redwood in Humboldt County, CA, for two years, environmental
activist Julia "Butterfly" Hill came down, ending her anti-logging protest.

TODAY:   9th and 10th graders interested in playing DHS Frosh or JV Baseball this spring are invited to an information
meeting this Thursday, December 18 at 7:00 pm in the Harper Junior High MPR.  JV Coach David Watts will discuss
information about preseason conditioning and the regular spring season.  Reminder: all sports physical paperwork must

PSAT Scores have arrived.  Bring your photo ID to the Career Center.

Attention AP students: AP exams are available for purchase in the Webstore now! $97.00 per test.  NO refunds, so
purchase carefully!  Stay tuned for more information, including dates for in person sales in March.

Attention all DHS students: DHS sweats are now available for purchase from the FINANCE OFFICE at lunchtime!
Sweatshirts are available in Royal Blue, Grey and Navy and come in either hoodie or crew-neck styles.  Sweatpants are
available in Royal Blue only.  The cost for the hoodie is $20, crew neck sweatshirts and sweatpants are $15.  Purchase
quick before they sell out!
CLUBS/EVENTS:   Feminism Club's Supply Drive started on Monday, December 15th and ends January 16th.  The Supply
Drive supports the Empower Yolo Organization, formerly known as the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center.
 Boxes to donate items will be around campus; look for them in your classrooms and the Front Office.

It's that time of year again!  Calling all singers! DHS Idol is in January and anyone who wants a chance to show off their
abilities and win $200.00 can find applications in PA-8.  Turn them in soon; they are going fast!

MISCELLANEOUS:  DHS Student Leaders of Clubs, Booster Groups, ASB: Friday, December 19th is the deadline for
submitting information/articles for the January 2015 DHS PTA Newsletter.  Please send news, announcements, etc. to
the DHS PTA Media Listserve at DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org. Include your name and a parent/faculty name and
contact information (email address and phone number) for questions about your submission. The newsletter is generally
available around the 1st of each month and is a great way to inform, notify or enlist parents' help for upcoming DHS
school and student activities.

Davis High School Rent-A-Band for the Holidays! Planning a holiday party for home or business?  Make it truly special
with a live musical performance by DHS Band students.  A band ensemble of 6-12 players will serenade you for $200 for
one hour.  Piano soloists ($80 per hour) may also be available.  Donating a performance makes a great gift for a nursing
home or a non-profit organization.  Proceeds support the DHS Band program.  Contact Diane Layman (530) 574-3565 or
