Anyone interested in playing DHS Football next year are invited to attend a lunch meeting on Wednesday, December 17
at 12:15 in the team room. Information will be shared about next season, zero period and the future of the DHS Football
program. The push for the playoffs begins now! Pizza will be served!

TODAY:   Have you ever had a longtime wish that never came true?  Well, let DHS grant it for you!  Come out to the quad
at lunch today to submit your holiday gift wish and you may be one of the lucky few to have your wish delivered to you
during Finals Week!

Play Rugby!   No one is too big or too small to play and no experience is necessary.  Come out to a December practice in
the football stadium today, Thursday from 5:30-7:30 pm.  We are forming both boys and girls teams.  Contact Head
Coach, Andy Malpass at andy at aj-construction.com with questions.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Attention AP students: AP exams are available for purchase in the Webstore now!
$97.00 per test.  NO refunds, so purchase carefully!  Stay tuned for more information, including dates for in person sales
in March.

Attention all DHS students: DHS sweats are now available for purchase from the FINANCE OFFICE!  Sweatshirts are
available in Royal Blue, Grey and Navy and come in either hoodie or crew-neck styles.  Sweatpants are available in Royal
Blue only.  The cost for the hoodie is $20, crew neck sweatshirts and sweatpants are $15.  Purchase quick before they
sell out!

ACADEMICS/CAREERS:  Congratulations to the 3 artists of the month whose work was chosen by Mr. Brown to hang in
his office through January:  Ryan Quinn, Sophia Lu and Ivy Zhou!

There will be a short informational meeting for anyone interested in applying to AP Art Studio for next year in A-1 at the
beginning of lunch on Friday, Dec 12.

Are you interested in science and engineering?  Would you like to participate in an internship at NASA this summer?  If
so, come to the Career Center on Friday, December 12 at lunch to hear Sonia Gonzalez, a UC Davis student, discuss her
recent summer internship at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.  Sonia will highlight the potential research students can
do with NASA and will describe exciting careers in science and engineering.  See you in the Career Center at lunch Friday!

CLUBS/EVENTS:   Be prepared for your math and science finals!  Come to S-9 at lunch Monday through Thursday for
tutoring by Math and Science Tutors Club!

Cancer Fact of the Week: In 2014, it is estimated that 15,780 children and adolescents ages 0 to 19 years will be
diagnosed with cancer and 1,960 will die of the disease in the U.S.
Interested in French food, language, culture, movies and/or tutoring?  Come join us in French Club every Tuesday at
lunch in Room O-4, Mr. Curley's room.

MISCELLANEOUS:  DHS Student Leaders of Clubs, Booster Groups, ASB: Friday, December 19th is the deadline for
submitting information/articles for the January 2015 DHS PTA Newsletter.  Please send news, announcements, etc. to
the DHS PTA Media Listserve at DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org. Include your name and a parent/faculty name and
contact information (email address and phone number) for questions about your submission. The newsletter is generally
available around the 1st of each month and is a great way to inform, notify or enlist parents' help for upcoming DHS
school and student activities.
