Are you looking for a fun and fast paced sport to play this summer that will be played at the 2016
Olympics?  Try Rugby 7's!  Local tournaments will be played this June and July.  Learn more at an
introductory meeting on Tuesday, April 29 from 7:00-8:00 pm at the County Library, Davis Branch, 315 E.
14th St., Davis, CA  95616.  No rugby experience is needed.  All 9th-12th grade boys are welcome.

Celebrate Boys Lacrosse Senior Night Friday at the DHS Stadium as the Blue Devils play their last home
game of the season.  Varsity starts at 7:30, JV at 5:30.  The Recognition Ceremony begins at 7:00 pm.

Attention incoming 9-12th grade girls interested in trying out for DHS Volleyball in the Fall: there will be
a player and parent information night on Friday, May 9th at 6:00 pm in the Small Gym at DHS.
Information will be give out about summer practice schedule, conditioning, camps and Fall tryouts.  Any

ACADEMICS/COLLEGE INFO:  Attention STAR Testers: 10th graders and 11th graders who participated in
the EAP in March need to report to the North Gym by 8:55 am on Wednesday, April 30th for STAR
testing.

Attention Students!  Due to the CAASPP testing this week, Monday through Friday, April 21st - 25th, we
will observe a Regular Schedule all week with no Block Schedule.
Learn Spanish at a weeklong Spanish Summer Institute in Lake Tahoe!  Students will learn oral and
written language skills and earn 4 quarter college units.  Come to the Career Center for more
information.
If you are a girl interested in a career in science, technology, engineering or math, you are invited to
attend to the "Exploring STEM Careers for Girls" event on Wednesday, April 30 from 7-8 pm at the Yolo
County Library.  The program is sponsored by The American Association of University Women in Davis.

Woodland Community College is offering an Energy & Sustainability Summer Academy for students
interested in the science, technology and environmental issues behind solar, wind, biomass and other
renewable energy sources.  Participants will earn 3 college units.  Come to the Career Center for more
information.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  Students, due to the construction upgrading of Highway 50, Unitrans will be
offering free transportation on all lines from April 22 through May 21st!  This project is called Fix50!
 Remember, it's free to ride the bus April 22nd to May 21st!  For ?s,  email ask at unitrans.com.

SENIORS:  On Thursday, Senior Announcement orders will be delivered by Herff-Jones and are available
at lunchtime.  Caps and Gowns will be delivered on May 1st.

Attention CSF Seniors: If you are an active lifetime member of CSF, you are eligible to apply for the CSF
Scholarship.  Pick up an application in P-13 (Mrs. O'Brien's room).  Applications are due by May 2.

Senior Ball 2014 - Bus Tickets!  Ride in style to Senior Ball with your friends!  Tickets on sale now through
April 24th for $25.00.  Transportation leaves from the photo shoot at the UCD Arboretum by the Gazebo
on Garrod Drive.  The bus loads up and leaves between 5:30 and 5:45.  The students will be returned to
the Arboretum at 1:00 am.  Tickets are being sold outside the Finance Office.  Make checks payable to
Tracy Skinner with your name and student's DHS ID number.  Be sure to arrive early enough at the
Arboretum for the photo shoot!

Senior Ball tickets on sale now until April 25th at lunchtime only.  Tickets $65. with ASB and $75. without
ASB.  Prices will increase weekly!  Tickets on sale at lunchtime only at the Finance Office window now
until April 25th.  If you have financial needs regarding Senior Ball tickets, please talk to your counselor.

Seniors!  Throughout the years, we've all had some great memories: Please share them!  Bring copies of
your favorite photographs with your friends to be featured at Prom.  Boxes to drop photos off will be in
C-4 and the Front Office.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  DHS Drama Department presents "A Tribute to Tony Fields" on April 25th and 26th at
7:00 pm at the Brunelle Performance Hall!  Join us for acting, dancing, singing and music in the most
meaningful event of the music year as we take you back to the 70's!  Tickets are $10. general admission,
$5 Students and $8 for Seniors.

Two Davis Baroque Ensembles Join Forces!  On Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 3:00, there will be a free
concert at the DHS Richard Brunelle Performance Hall of the UC Davis Baroque Ensemble led by Michael
Sand and Phebe Craig and the DHS Baroque Ensemble led by Angelo Moreno presenting the music of
Back and Vivaldi, featuring a concerto for four harpsichords and strings by Bach.  Please join us for this
exciting concert!

CSF Seniors - be sure to check the lists in Mrs. O'Brien's window (Room P-13) showing which seniors
have qualified for lifetime and active lifetime membership.  It is important that you also initial the list to
verify the spelling of your name as it will appear in the program for Senior Awards Night.  You must
verify by the end of lunch on Friday, April 25.  Sorry, we can guarantee no changes after that time.

Get out those terry towels and start polishing that chrome. It's almost time for Devil Day Car Show! The
show will take place on the quad Wednesday, May 28th, and is hosted by our very own DHS Car Club.
Pick up and return your application in room O-3 or in the main office. Students and non-students may
apply. Don't wait. Apps are due by May 15. Get your application in early for this year's Devil Day Car
Show!

Grad Night Ticket sales continue!  You can purchase your ticket(s) outside the Finance Office during
lunch or online at davisgradnight.org and costs $90.
