June 7th from 8:30-11:30 am - $20. donation benefits DHS Athletics Department.   Athletes in grades 7-
12 are encouraged to complete their sports physicals this spring to be ready for the 2014-15 school year.

2014 DHS Boys Lacrosse Break the Record Night is Friday, April 11. The Blue Devils will be taking on the
Jesuit Marauders. JV plays at 5:30 and the Varsity squad at 7:30. Admission is free and food will be
available by Cenario's Pizza, Jamba Juice, Outback Steakhouse and Thai Recipes. Grab a friend or family
member and come out to support Davis High Blue Devil Lacrosse!

TODAY:  Cheer Tryout Mandatory Meeting, tonight in the DHS Library, 6:00 for candidates with one parent/guardian.

JUNIORS:  Do you want to get an early start on college planning for next year?  If so, come to the Career
Center on Monday, April 7 at lunch to hear admission representatives from Carleton, St. Olaf,
Macalester and Colorado College speak about their colleges and answer questions.  This is a convenient
way to learn about colleges you may be interested in!  See you in the Career Center Monday at lunch!

SENIORS: It's that time you have all been waiting for! Senior Ball is here!  Ticket sales begin April 8th
with prices starting at $60. with ASB and $70 without ASB, prices will increase weekly!  Tickets on sale at
lunch at the Finance Office window from April 8th to April 25th.  If you have financial needs regarding
Senior Ball tickets, please talk to your counselor.

Seniors!  Throughout the years, we've all had some great memories: We want you to share them with
us!  Bring in copies of your favorite photographs with your friends to be featured at Prom.  Boxes to
drop photos off will be in C-4 and the Front Office.

ACADEMICS/COLLEGE INFO:   CAASPP notices went home to all students last week. 11th graders will
participate in SBAC field testing the week of April 21-25. We will observe a Regular Day Schedule all
week - No Block days on Wednesday and Thursday (4/23-24).

Did you miss the Career Center's Summer Activities, Job and Scholarship Fair?  Don't worry - all
information and applications available at the fair for scholarships, jobs, summer programs, internship
and volunteer opportunities can be found in the Career Center.  Come to the Career Center for all this
information and more!

CLUBS/EVENTS:  Hey awesome ag kids!  The last monthly FFA meeting of the school year is Wednesday,
April 9th at 6:00 pm in room O-1A.  There will be pizza and we will vote for next year's chapter officers.
See you all there!

Interested in a career in physical therapy or a related field?  Come to the Career Center on Wednesday,
April 9 at lunchtime to hear David Harrington, a physical therapist from Kaiser, discuss common sports
injuries in teenagers and what to do about them.  Lunch will be provided! See you in the Career Center
Wednesday at lunch!

How would you like to attend a summer camp in the Silicon Valley to learn about humanities,
technology, and entrepreneurship?  Students at the camp will learn from professionals from Stanford,
Facebook, Google, Linkedin, Stitcher and more!  Come to the Career Center for more information.

MISCELLANEOUS: Davis Senior High School competed in the Speech/Debate Tournament on March 29th
and placed 2nd in Spanish Debate.  Congratulations to Adriana Jimenez, Veronica Puente, Itzel Perez,
Vanessa Ledesma and Sarai Barragan for a job well done!  Individual medals were given and plaque for
display here at DHS!

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY!  Davis Kids Klub is looking for student interns to help organize recreational
activities at North Davis Elementary School's summer camp.  The camp takes place June 16th - August
15th.  Come to the Career Center for an application!

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY! Farmers Insurance is offering a paid part-time internship to work in their
insurance and financial services agency.  Student will assist in securing appointments and contacting
clients.  Pay is $9.00 per hour plus bonuses.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Are you interested in learning about the United States Navy?  If so, come to the Career Center on
Tuesday, April 8th to speak to a Navy representative.

Come out and support the students as they take on the teachers at the Student vs. Staff Basketball
Game.  The game will be held on April 17th in the old gym at 7:00 pm.  Sign-ups are in C-4 and end April
8th.  Any teachers wanting to apply must report to Mr. Peevyhouse.

Would you like to try out for the award winning DHS Cheer Squad for the 2014-2015 school year? All
interested participants and one parent/guardian must attend one of the mandatory Tryout Information
Nights which will be held on:  Monday, April 7th: 6 p.m., DHS Library and Thursday, April 10th: 6 p.m.,
DHS Library ~ Tryouts will be held Friday, April 18th beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the DHS Dance Room.

GRAD NIGHT:  Get your tickets, Seniors! Grad Night tickets will be sold when Senior Ball tickets are being
sold beginning April 8 at lunchtime by the Finance Window.  You can still also buy tickets online at
davisgradnight.org, or download the form and mail it in with a check.  If you aren't sure that you have
bought your ticket, the Front Desk has a list of names to check and see.  The price of tickets is now
$90.00 and covers all Grad night events, activities, food/drinks and prizes!  If you wait until June, the
price will go up.  Scholarship tickets are available through the Counseling Office.

GRAD NIGHT DONATIONS!  Grad Night gladly accepts donations of food, drinks, prizes and other items -
we need it all and your help!  For a list of specific raffle prizes that our raffle team in hoping to away to

needed items and how to be a sponsor.  The first drop-off day will be on 12-4:00 pm on Sunday, April

HENNA ARTISTS NEEDED!  Do you have skills as a henna tattoo artist or know someone who does?  If so,
please email Gerrit Michael at gerritmichael1 at gmail.com if you are willing to share your talents with
our seniors on Grad Night.  We need henna artists all night long but you must be at least 22 years old to
volunteer.
