THIS DAY IN HISTORY:  On this day in 1889, the Wyoming state convention approves a constitution that includes a provision granting women the right to vote. Formally admitted into the union the following year, Wyoming thus became the first state in the history of the nation to allow its female citizens to vote.

Traffic Safety reminder for student and parent drivers:  the speed limit around schools and residential areas is 25mph. Please be aware of pedestrians and bicyclists and be respectful to our Davis High neighbors.

Are you interested in being a Walker Creek CABIN LEADER?  If so, cabin leaders are needed for Montgomery Elementary school.  Please come to the Career Center for an application.

Reminder: The first National Honor Society meeting is today at lunch in S-12. We will be going over club expectations and requirements. In order to maintain an active membership, you must attend at least four meetings per semester.

Are you interested in sweet treats and a culture that can't be beat? Come join the French Club on Tuesdays every week to enjoy awesome edible culture with an interactive and fun lunch atmosphere. Actual French culture and language not required.

Join the Chinese Club to vote for your future officers! Stop by for a movie and fun with your friends! Don't miss it.

Latinos Unidos: We are meeting in S-2 on Tuesday at lunch. We will discuss homecoming and elect new officers. New members welcome! Spanish & English spoken. See you Tuesday and bring a friend!

The DHS German Club meets on Mondays in room N-2. Come to learn more about German culture. We'll have treats too! No language skill necessary.

The DHS Language Tutors Club is looking for qualified tutors in all languages, including English. Applications can be found in language classrooms or in room N-2. Tutoring hours count as community service hours.

Come join Red Cross Club for our second meeting of the year on Tuesday 10/1 at lunch in Mrs. Husmann's room S-1. We will be discussing the blood drive and future projects, hope to see you there!

Are you interested in learning more about the United States Marines?  If so, come to the Career Center on Tuesday, October 1 at lunch to meet with a representative of the Marines.

Feminism means equality for all. Come to the 1st meeting of the DHS Feminist Club on Wednesday 10/2 at lunch in O-1 (the old cafeteria). All genders welcome.

Spring break trip to Washington DC:  Informational meeting on October 2 (Wednesday) during lunchtime in Mr. Williams classroom, P14.  The trip incudes tours of: Smithsonian museums, Monticello, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Holocaust Museum, Capital Hill, and much more.

Interested in Architecture or Engineering? Join the Architecture & Engineering Club located in the Career Center during lunch on Wednesdays. For more information stop by the Career Center.

Want to display a message on the DHS Marquee? Pick up a request form in C-4 and turn it in to the finance office. Messages run for a minimum of 2 days and are only $20.00! Come pick up your form!

PSAT sign-ups are available via the web-store now through October 4th for Juniors. In person signs are 10/7-11 at lunch.
Sophomores will be able to sign up online or in person October 7-11. The cost is $24.00. If you feel this is a financial hardship, please contact your counselor immediately. Bring your receipt to the Testing Coordinator to pick up your Student bulletin with lots of information and sample questions!

JUNIORS: seeking a cultural experience abroad are invited to attend a lunchtime meeting on Friday, October 4 in room O6.  Global Glimpse Ambassadors will share their experience in Nicaragua where they learned about the cultural, political environment, and returned as global citizens.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:  Volunteers are needed for the UC Davis Pre-Medical & Pre-Health Professions National Conference. Volunteers work a 5-hour shift during the conference, then get to attend the rest of the conference for free!
