TODAY: Have you ever wanted to see your teacher kiss a goat?  All this week, teachers and Vice Principal Desideri have been participating in the Davis FFA's Kiss the Goat Contest.  The teacher with the most money in their jar TODAY will be kissing the goat at lunch in the quad!

CSFers!  TODAY is the last day to register for the Spring 2013 Semester!  Don't forget to come to Ms. O'Brien's room, P-13 with your finished pink registration form, grade report, $5 and your hour sheet, during lunch.  We will see you all then.  Remember, no applications will be accepted after lunchtime on 2/22/13.

NEW:  Latinos Unidos will have their general meeting on Monday, 2/25 in O-5 during lunch.  This meeting will count as one of the points needed to go on the San Francisco trip.

Do you have the heart to care not just for yourself or your friends, but also for others may be in need? Do you have the compassion to be there for someone who needs you to just listen? Do you have the strength to keep what you hear and see to yourself, to never gossip about someone you help?  If this is you, consider joining the LEAD team for the 2013-14 school year.  Pick up an application in Mr. Elliott's room L-25.  Applications are due back to Mr. Elliott by March 4.

To all future AVID students.  Applications for the AVID elective class are due next Wednesday, 2/27 in O-4 to Mr. Curley.  Don't forget to indicate the day that is best for your interview!

The Chinese Club is participating in Open House and the World Language Fair and we need volunteers!  Come by T-3 on Tuesday at lunch for more information!

Do you wish you could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat it and be happy?  If you do, YOU should apply to be a Friendship Day Facilitator!  Come to Mr. Williams' room P-14 on 3/6 at lunch for an informational meeting.

DHS Choir Auditions: Application Postmark Deadline is Monday, 2/25!  Audition applications for Advanced Treble Choir, Jazz Choir and the Madrigal Singers are now available on the following choir websites:

Please support the DHS Concert, Symphonic, Jazz and Pep Bands and enjoy a pizza on Wed. Feb 27th from 4 - 9 p.m. at Lamppost Pizza in West Davis.   30% of the proceeds of the pizzas will be donated to the Band program to support their upcoming spring trip to Disneyland.  The fundraiser applies to eat in and take out orders. Just mention the DHS Bands.

All are invited for a night of great pizza during the evening of Davis Senior High School's Open House to raise funds for the Madrigals, 2/28 from 4:00 until 9:00 at Lamppost Pizza, 1260 Lake Blvd., Davis.  30% of the proceeds of the pizzas will be donated to the Madrigals to support their historic tour of Italy, including Rome and the Vatican this spring. HUB applications for business manager, graphic artist and photographer are now available outside L-20 and are due no later than 3/4.  Students who share their skills without award-winning publications develop a portfolio that will help them in college and beyond.  Join us!

All positions are available including bussers, cashiers, salad bar support, etc.   Applicants must be friendly and courteous.  The hours are flexible and the pay is $8.50 per hour or more, based on experience. Hey, do you want a $20 Target gift card?  Are you an artist or just like to draw?  The DHS Car Club is hosting a t-shirt design contest for the 2013 Devil Day Car Show.  Designs are due by April 1 in Room O-3 and can be submitted on paper or electronically.  Come up with your own design and you could be this year's gift card winner!

Take advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity   to shadow a city official by applying for Youth in Government.  Applications are available for all juniors and seniors in C-4 and due 3/1.
SENIORS:  March 2 is the deadline to apply for FAFSA and Cal Grants.  Don't miss out on getting free money for college!  Come to the Career Center if you have any questions or would like more information about these programs.

Attention Instrumental Students: All DHS Orchestra Program Placement Auditions will be held at the DHS Music Building in PA-3 from 3/11-3/15.  Check the music rooms this week for sign-up sheets to choose audition times.  Pick up the registration form, complete and return it at the time of your audition to the audition assistant.  The sign-up deadline is Friday, March 1.  The final audition schedule will be posted on Monday, 3/5 with your audition time. DHS Bands Present "An Evening at Coconut Grove" on Saturday March 9, 2013, in the Emerson MPR. Join us for a family friendly evening of music, dinner (catered by Dos Coyotes), desserts, tropical mocktails, and silent auction with fabulous prizes.  Featuring the Davis High School Jazz Band, Harper and DEH (DaVinci, Emerson, and Holmes) Jr. High Jazz Bands, The J Street Jazz Cats, Sax by Popular Demand, and the Crazy Eights.
