LUNCH CHOICES:  BBQ/Adobo/Curry/Tikka/ Chicken or Hot Wings over rice, or Nachos with refried beans, cheese and salsa, or Sushi Bowl.  Offered daily is Cheese Sandwich with Soup of the Day, Veggie or Pepperoni Pizza.

TODAY'S EVENTS:  Latinos Unidos and the Debate Team are having a debate on Affirmative action in the IPAB today, Thursday, 2/7 during lunch.  This event will count as one of the points needed to go on the San Francisco trip at the end of the school year.  Hope to see you there!

NEW:
CSFers, the Spring 2013 registration for CSF begins next week and runs for two weeks.  Come to Ms. O'Brien's room, P-13 during lunch with your completed pink registration sheet (found in the library/front office/P-13), grade report from the mail, hour sheet and $5.  No applications will be accepted after lunchtime on 2/22/13.

ONGOING/UPCOMING EVENTS:
Anyone wishing to take AP Art Studio next year must submit their portfolio to any Art Teacher by Friday, February 15th.

JOB OPPORTUNITY:  The City of Davis has five summer job openings in their aquatics department.  Positions available are lifeguard, pool cashier, snack bar attendant, swim instructor and swim instructor aide. Come to the Career Center for a more information and a flyer for each job.

FFA and the Floral Design class will be holding a Valentine's Day rose sale.  Through the week of 2/4 through 2/8, single rose arrangements with customizable cards will be sold for $3 in the quad at lunch.  Arrangements will be delivered on Valentine's Day during 5th period.



Class officer applications are now available in C-4 and are due Friday, 2/8 in C-4.  If you are interested in serving as class president, treasurer, secretary, club commission or other offices, please pick up an application.

Blue Devils! Come show your love of Valentine's Day and buy a Valentine Gram at the Finance Office at lunch until 2/13.  For $1, you will get a card and a piece of seasonal candy!

Love to sing?  Check out the outstanding vocal music program at DHS next year (even if at Da Vinci).  Opportunities include All-Treble Audition Choir, Advanced Treble Choir directed by Dr. Karen Gardias. DHS Choir Auditions: 3/18-3/22/13  Audition applications are available on the websites: Advanced Treble Choir www.dhstreblechoir.org<http://www.dhstreblechoir.org>, Jazz Choir www.dhsjazzchoir.org<http://www.dhsjazzchoir.org>.  All choir audition applications must be postmarked by Monday, 2/25/13.  The applicants will be notified by email on or before Monday, 3/4.

LECTURE SERIES: Interested in a career in the medical or health professions or just want to take good care of your health?  The Teen Health Awareness Club will host Dr. Amy Chen, a Kaiser pediatrician who will lecture on "Healthy Eating" in S-5 at lunchtime on Wednesday, 2/20.

On Tuesday, 3/19 at lunchtime in S-5, Dr. Eric Fromer will lecture on "Unblemished truths for your skin care."  He will discuss information on skin cancer/melanoma, the impact of tanning, skin aging, acne and other issues like, tattooing, piercing, nail care and rashes.  He is a dermatologist at Vacaville Kaiser.  Healthy snacks will be provided!

The Lecture by Dr. Scott Simon of UC Davis Biomedical Engineering Department presenting : "Innate Immunity: Engineering Your Body's Response to Infection and Inflammation"  has been rescheduled for Tuesday, 2/12/13.

The California State Summer School for the Arts is accepting applications from talented artists, writers and performers for its premier summer program at the California Institute of the Arts from July 13 - August 9.  Instruction is offered in animation, film and video, creative writing, dance, music, theater and visual arts.  Deadline to apply is February 28.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
