-Many people have been asking..."Is the DHS Auto Shop doing oil changes these days?" The answer is YES! The DHS Oil Change and General Service Program runs continuously when school is in session! To make an appointment for your car, truck, van or SUV, please email Robert Thayer at rthayer at djusd.net<mailto:rthayer at djusd.net> . Get your oil changed in most cases for under $30 with the highest quality oil change products. Your vehicle will be serviced with the utmost care and respect. All work is personally supervisor by the instructor and you will receive a receipt for your donation and a window sticker to remind you of your next oil change. Please support our automotive technology students of Davis High School with an oil change. Other work is also available; we do a lot more than oil changes!

The DHS Blue and White Foundation is now accepting applications for the Student Activity Grant Program. The goal of the program is to enhance the high school experience for any current DHS student. Any DHS student may apply for funding to support curricular or extra-curricular activities during their sophomore, junior or senior year. Examples of activities that may be considered for funding include academic conferences, sports training camps, fine art workshops, tutoring, extracurricular school essentials (i.e. costuming, sports equipment, musical instruments), etc. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by- case basis and all grant awards will depend on the merit of the requests, the number of applicants and availability of funding. The Student Activity Grant Program is for individual students only; applications can be submitted online at www.dhsblueandwhite.org<http://www.dhsblueandwhite.org>. Deadline for submissions is October 31st, 2012. Questions? Contact Cathe Richardson at crichardson at ucdavis.edu<mailto:crichardson at ucdavis.edu>.
-Reminder - Participation in student activities is a privilege, is encouraged, and plays an important part in insuring that students have a well-rounded high school experience. Please don't earn a spot on the No Activities List by failing to follow DHS rules and expectations for behavior and attendance. Placement on the NAL would prevent you from participating in fun activities such as break-the record night, the black-light dance, and even playing on an athletic team. Follow guidelines that are designed to help you be successful. Don't go NAL!!
