SPORTS PHYSICAL PAPERWORK NIGHTS:  October 23 & 24: 6-8pm in the North Gym lobby. Turn in your completed paperwork and receive your athletic clearance card to present to your Winter coach on the first day of tryouts.
**If your student participated in a Fall sport, their concussion testing and paperwork clears them for the whole school year. If they choose to participate in a Winter sport, they need to come by the DHS Athletics Office or come to the paperwork night to pick up a copy of their clearance and emergency cards to give to the Winter coach.

NEW

-Attention Juniors!  Today is the last day to purchase a PSAT test with priority.  On Friday, sales are open to both 10th and 11th graders.  Bring your $24 cash or check and photo IDs to the Large Conference Room at lunch only.

-Listen up fellow witches and wizards of DHS!  Next week is Spirit Week!  Monday is House Spirit Day, Tuesday is 'Er' Day, Wednesday is Polyjuice Potion Day, Thursday is Throw-Back Day, Friday is Freakishly Blue Friday.  Dress up and show your Blue Devil Spirit!



-Saludos a Todos!  Do you want to learn about Latin culture?  Come to Latinos Unidos meeting at lunch every Monday

-If you are a sophomore interested in working on the Ravenclaw float, don't forget to pick up a permission slip in C-4!  Float Building starts Monday, October 15th!



-If you would like to come check out the cool clubs, sports and class floats, come to the Hogwarts Homecoming Day Parade!  This fun even takes place on Friday, October 19th (Homecoming Day) at 1:15 pm.  The route begins on 4th and C Streets and ends at Oak Street.  Hope to see you there!


-CABIN LEADER'S are needed for North Davis Elementary School's trip to Walker Creek on January 7-11. Cabin leaders must work well with children, and have an outgoing personality with an enthusiasm for the outdoors. Come to the Career Center for an application. Applications must be submitted to North Davis by October 30.

-Monday, October 15 will kick off Spirit Week with a Homecoming Rally with the following changes to the schedule.

2nd Period            8:36-9:24 Students Report to Homerooms after 2nd Period and will be escorted to the Rally.

-Homecoming is almost here!  On Friday, October 19, the DHSH Library, Career Center and Administrative Office will close at 12:48 pm to allow staff to take part in the Homecoming Festivities.



-Get your tickets at lunch on the Quad this week for EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!, the Jazz Choir's third annual dance competition.  The show is this Saturday, 7:00 at the IPAB/Brunelle Music Theatre.  Watch your classmates compete for cash prizes!  Tickets are $5 for students, $8 for adults.  At the door, tickets are $10.  The show includes performances by DHS Junior Ashlyn Savidge, last year's Grand Prize winner, the Jazz Choir and other dance groups.  Advance tickets also available at Watermelon Music.



-Students: would you like to nominate a friend, club or group to be featured in the yearbook?  If you know someone with an interesting story, please email their name, grade and a 1-2 sentence description to Mrs. Thomsen in C-3.



-Attention all Seniors! Remind your parents that Yearbook Senior Ad due dates are around the corner!  1/8 page ads are due October 19, ¼ page ads and ½ page ads are due November 16th. -The DHS Band Boosters and volunteers from the DHS Band students are selling tickets for a raffle.  The Grand prize is the very popular Google Nexus Computer Tablet.  Other cool prizes being raffled are tickets to the Mondavi and gift certificates from Best Buy and Yolo Berry.  The drawing will be held during the Davis High School Jazz Band Performance at the Jazz and Beat Festival on 10/20/12 and ticket holders do not have to be present to win. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets.  There are $10 gift certificates for Lamppost Pizza on each raffle ticket as well!  Come and hear the DHS Jazz Band on 10/20/12 at University Commons Plaza at 5:00 pm and maybe win a great prize!
