-Attention CSFers!  There is a general meeting today, Friday March 30 in P-13 at lunch.  We will be electing officers for next year, so sophomore and juniors, please come and vote!


-JUNIORS:  Would you like to participate in an all-expense paid Camp Royal leadership camp this summer?  Camp Royal is a leadership-training camp filled information, ideas and strategies that will help the camper return to his/her school a more effective leader. Come to the Career Center N-17 for more information and an application. The deadline to apply is TODAY, March 30!

-Don't miss Momentum Dance Company's Spring concert: Dancing Till the World Ends, tonight, Friday and Saturday, March 30 and March 31st at the IPAB Building!  Show times are 7:30pm, Friday Night, with a Saturday Matinee at 2pm and an evening show at 7:30pm. The work features student choreography to a wide range of music and variety of technical styles. Tickets are $8 for students, $10 general admission.
 -"Out On a Limb" Auditions!  The Drama Department's last show of the year will be an evening of over-the-top scenes and monologues.  A mandatory informational meeting will be held next Tuesday, April 3 in P-11 followed by auditions next Thursday and Friday!

The webpage is filled with helpful information about colleges, scholarships, financial aid, upcoming presentations and has many links to help you plan for life after high school!  There are also links for employment opportunities.  Check it out today!



-Attention all Math and Science Tutors!  We will be holding the general election for next year's officers on Monday, April 2 at lunchtime in Room S-09.  See you there!

-Attention Seniors! On Tuesday April 17th, you can take the ASVAB! This is a great tool for your future and it's free! Sign-up sheet is located in the Career Center or at the Front Desk.


-The DHS Jazz Band will perform with the Capital Jazz Project Trio at the DHS Brunelle Performing Arts Theater at 7:30 pm on Sunday, April 1.  Tickets at the door will be general admission $12, students/seniors $8 and ages 14 and under, $5.



-Come to the Davis UNICEF Club meeting in L-23 at lunchtime on Monday, April 2.  We will be discussing elections for the next school year!

-Sophomores and Juniors:  Would you like to do research at UC Davis this summer?  The UC Davis Young Scholars Program offers summer research opportunities in biology and the natural sciences for high-achieving high school students.  Come to the Career Center for more information and an application.    Applications are due March 31.



-Come to the Career Center N-17 for information regarding Kaiser's L.A.U.N.C.H. High School Summer Youth Employment Program.   This is a program in Sacramento, seeking applicants for its paid internship open to junior and senior students who have financial need and qualify as disadvantaged or underrepresented.  The program is designed to encourage students to earn a high school diploma and consider a career in a health care-related field.  Positions are limited so apply now!



-Come to Mr. Blue Devil and see your favorite Senior guys shake it and show off their talents!  This fantastic show will be in the IPAB on Thursday, April 5 at 7:00.   Tickets are $10 pre-sale beginning Thursday and $12 at the door.  This show usually sells out so get your tickets fast!

-Enjoy orchestral music?  Come to the 16th Annual Wennberg Music Festival at the Mondavi Center at UC Davis, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 3:00 pm and listen to our award-winning DHS musicians along with other Davis student musicians!  The Davis High School Baroque Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra and School Symphony Orchestra will be performing. -Seniors: If you are planning on attending Sacramento State University in Fall, 2012, you must request a transcript now.   Due to this campus being impacted, your acceptance will be rescinded if the transcript is not received by Sacramento State by April 10, 2012.  Please order your transcript at the counseling office.

-The Blue and White Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Student Activity Grant.  Applications can be downloaded from our web site:  http://www.dhsblueandwhite.org.   The deadline for this round of applications is April 1st.  These grants are for individual students, not student clubs.  The following is information regarding eligibility for the grant:    Scholarship funds to support academic endeavors for incoming Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors attending Davis Senior High School.  These include Academic Society meetings/workshops/conferences, sports training camps, fine arts workshops/symposiums and assistance with funding for additional expenses related to extramural school activities i.e. costuming, sports equipment or musical instruments (rental or purchased).

                These funds must be used while students are attending Davis Senior High School.  Exception to this directive may be considered for the time period immediately prior to entering the high school or immediately following graduation, but prior to entering another academic institution.


-HEY SENIORS!  It is time to make your reservation for Grad Night!    Grad Night is Friday, June 8 from 9:30 to 5:00 am at Emerson Junior High.   No one will be admitted after midnight! Tickets are $90 and the check should be made payable to "Davis Grad Night." You can mail or scan in your kindergarten photo for the Grad Night Kindergarten Wall.  You can also mail your reservation.
