-Grand Opening of Café Diablo! Need a cool place to hang out before school on Wednesday? Come to the Grand Opening of Café Diablo, Wednesday starting at 7:30. Buy coffee, drinks and baked goods to support the ROP Food Service class. All items $1.00 -$2.00.
-Attention graduating senior CSF members! Senior Status is now posted in the window of Ms. O'Brien's room, P-13. You must check the list and verify your status before April 20 in order to be recognized for lifetime or active lifetime membership. This is your responsibility. Remember, the deadline to verify is April 20.
-Would you like an internship this summer? The County of Yolo is offering students, ages 15-19 internships in local government from June 11 - August 2. You get to learn about careers in county government and the benefits of public employment! Come to the Career Center for more information.
-Still deciding where to go after high school? Up for a fun trip with friends? The City of Davis is sponsoring the SoCal Safari for a tour of 6 Southern California Universities including UCLA and UCSB! The trip runs from April 9 - April 12 and the cost is $490.00. -Sophomores and Juniors: Would you like to do research at UC Davis this summer? The UC Davis Young Scholars Program offers summer research opportunities in biology and the natural sciences for high-achieving high school students. Applications are due March 31. Come to the Career Center for more information and an application.
-JUNIORS: Would you like to participate in an all-expense paid Camp Royal leadership camp this summer? Camp Royal is a leadership-training camp filled information, ideas and strategies that will help the camper return to his/her school a more effective leader. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 30. Come to the Career Center N-17 for more information and an application.
-SENIORS: If you're planning to attend UCD, have a minimum GPA of 3.5, and you worked at a job during high school, you may qualify for the $12,452 Beeghly-Merritt Scholarship! Applications are now available in the Career Center N-17. The deadline to apply is April 6!
-Seniors: If you are planning on attending Sacramento State University in Fall, 2012, you must request a transcript now. Due to this campus being impacted, your acceptance will be rescinded if the transcript is not received by Sacramento State by April 10, 2012. Please order your transcript at the counseling office.
-The Blue and White Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Student Activity Grant. Applications can be downloaded from our web site: http://www.dhsblueandwhite.org . The deadline for this round of applications is April 1st. These grants are for individual students, not student clubs. The following is information regarding eligibility for the grant:
Scholarship funds to support academic endeavors for incoming Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors attending Davis Senior High School. These include Academic Society meetings/workshops/conferences, sports training camps, fine arts workshops/symposiums and assistance with funding for additional expenses related to extramural school activities i.e. costuming, sports equipment or musical instruments (rental or purchased).
These funds must be used while students are attending Davis Senior High School. Exception to this directive may be considered for the time period immediately prior to entering the high school or immediately following graduation, but prior to entering another academic institution.
-HEY SENIORS! It is time to make your reservation for Grad Night! Grad Night is Friday, June 8 from 9:30 to 5:00 am at Emerson Junior High. No one will be admitted after midnight! Tickets are $90 and the check should be made payable to "Davis Grad Night." Fill out the quick form on the website. www.davisgradnight.com<http://www.davisgradnight.com> An email confirmation will be sent; no tickets will be issued. Senior's name will be on a paid list at Grad Night check-in. Seniors must be eligible to walk in their graduation ceremony to attend and must present an ID to enter Grad Night. You can mail or scan in your kindergarten photo for the Grad Night Kindergarten Wall. You can also mail your reservation. Download the Grad Night form, fill it out and mail your $90. check with your kindergarten picture to: Davis Grad Night Paperless Tickets, P.O. Box 2143, Davis, CA 95617.
