ATHLETICS
- Frosh Boys Basketball @ River Valley                                   4:00

- DHS Boys Volleyball- Pre-conditioning begins January 3rd. Workouts
will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:30 in the DHS weight room.
Tryouts start on February 6th. All 9th-12th grade boys are welcome.

TODAY
- For Lunch: Today we have sweet and sour pork meatballs over local
rice, buffalo chicken tenders over local rice, taco bar: bean and
cheese chalupa, taco meat, nacho cheese and salsa.  Soup is minestrone
with wheat dinner roll.


NEW
CAML #4 will be held on Tuesday, January 10 during lunch in any math
classroom.   Many math teachers are offering some form of credit for
getting CAML questions correct.  Ask your math teacher about this
problem-solving activity!


CONTINUED
-Seniors:  The last chance to order DHS Caps/Gowns/Tassels, Graduation
Announcements and Class Rings is Friday, January 6th from 1:30 to 3:30
in the quad!

-Attention Students:  Did you know that the Academic Center has tutors
available to help you prepare for finals?  Stop by Room M-2 to get
help on final papers, projects and final reviews!

-You can still be part of Davis High Idol 2012 or you can encourage a
talented friend. Students in grades 10-12 at any DJUSD school are
eligible to compete in this wildly popular event hosted by the
Advanced Treble Choir.  Semi-finals are January 20 and 21st.  The
exciting finals will be held on January 28.  Information and
applications are available NOW in DHS Room PA-08 or online at
http://www.dhstreblechoir.org.  Applications will be accepted until
4:00 pm this Friday, January 6 in Room PA-08.  Pick that perfect song
and get ready for some fun!  Tickets go on sale soon!

-Friendship Day- “Wazzup friends?! Please turn in your Friendship Day
permission slips to the Front Office today Thursday, January 5th!
Thank you!”

-CFS-There will be a CSF meeting this Friday. It will be the final
meeting of the semester so be sure to attend!

-Seniors: Need money for college? Then come to the DHS Financial
Workshop on Thursday, January 19 at 7:00pm in the IPAB. At the
workshop you’ll learn how to apply for federal and state financial aid
for college. All seniors and their parents are invited to attend. Come
to the Career Center in room N-17 for more information.

-Attention All DHS Instrumental Soloists- This year’s annual DHS
Orchestra Concerto Competition is being held Wednesday, January 11,
2012 at 7:00pm on stage in the DHS Dick Brunelle Performance Hall. It
is open to all DHS instrumentalist. The winner of this competition
will be given the honor of performing with the DHS Symphony Orchestra
at the Mondavi Center in Jackson Hall at the Wennberg Music Festival
on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 2:00 pm as well as a check for $300.00.
A sign-up sheet and informational flyer will be located starting
Wednesday, December 14th on the window of the computer lab in PA-3.
Also, you must email Mr. Moreno after you sign up at
amoreno at djusd.net.

-The City of Davis’ Recreation Division will be hosting its 6th annual
Recreation Job Skills Workshop on Wednesday,
February 1, 2012 from 4:00-6:00pm. This upcoming event has a brand NEW
format and will include presentations on how to make contacts, prepare
for an interview, tips on how to increase your chances of employment,
and participants will even be able to partake in a mock interview!

-Want to turn your trash into something useful? The Environmental Club
is collecting clean, dry plastic bags, wrappers and saran wrap to
build a bench. Look for flyers around school for more info and deposit
your plastic bags and wrappers in the special bins in the science quad
and main quad.

-RECYCLE REMINDER: The Green Recycle Bins are for Paper and Plastic
ONLY! Cardboard Recycle is located in the Dumpster Area!
