-For Lunch today we have Sweet and Sour Pork Meatballs over local rice, Buffalo Chicken Tender over local rice, Taco Bar with bean and cheese chalupa, taco meat, nacho cheese and salsa.



NEW
-EAP  The EAP will be held before school on Wednesday, March 7.  The Deadline to sign up is March 2!  The information was sent home to students.

-Lecture Series:  Please join Professor Jason DeJong on Monday, February 27 during  lunch at 12:00 Noon in Room PA-8.  Professor Jason DeJong is in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a former DHS student.  The title of Professor DeJong's talk is:  Using Bacteria to Stabilize Buildings during Earthquakes.  He performs research in a unique area that he specifically developed.  He has been recognized for this research, which was highlighted on the Discovery Channel and in the Wall Street Journal!

-The California State Summer School for the Arts is accepting applications from talented artists, writers and performers for its 4 week summer program July 14-August 10 at the California Institute of the Arts.  Deadline to apply is February 28.  Come to the Career Center for more information and an application.

-If you are interested in learning how engineers make artificial organs, limbs, or medical devices, come to a UC Davis presentation on the growing field of Biomedical Engineering in the Career Center N-17 on Friday, February 24 at lunch.  This event is hosted by the Healthcare Careers Club and all students are welcome and encouraged to attend!

-The AVID Application is now available to all students in the Counseling Office and Room O-4.  AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.  We set goals for high school graduation and college entrance.  AVID classes enjoy rigorous academic inquiry and focused fun collaboration.  We also provide college field trips and teach effective practices to raise your GPA.  Talk to your counselor or Mr. Curley NOW - applications are due February 27th!

-Attention Students: CHANGE IN PORTAL DATE OPENING:  The portal to select courses for next year will open on February 23 and be open through March 23.

-Attention CSF'ers!  Registration for 2012 Spring Semester has begun, from now until Friday, February 24.  Come to Ms. O'Brien's room, P-13 during lunch with your completed pink application, your transcript (not printed from Zangle!), your completed hour sheet with 20 hours and 1 CSF project and $5.  See you there!

-SENIORS:  March 2 is the deadline to apply for FAFSA and Cal Grants.  Don't miss out on getting free money for college!  If you have any questions about either of these programs, come to the Career Center N-17 THIS WEEK!

-Would you like to join the 2012-13 Yearbook Staff? We are now taking applications. You must fill out an application AND have an interview before signing up for this class.
