THIS DAY IN HISTORY
-D.C. residents cast first presidential votes, on this day in 1964, residents of the District of Columbia cast their ballots in a presidential election for the first time. The passage of the 23rd Amendment in 1961 gave citizens of the nation's capital the right to vote for a commander in chief and vice president. They went on to help Democrat Lyndon Johnson defeat Republican Barry Goldwater in 1964, the next presidential election.

COLLEGE VISITS - Prior to attending the college visit, students must go to their class and check in with their teachers. Only students who have pre-registered in Naviance will be able to attend the college visit. Only 11th/12th graders may attend a college visit.

Mac and Cheese with seasonal Veggies, Ravioli, or Spaghetti with meat sauce. All Pasta entries are served with Cheesy Bread Sticks. The Taco Cart will also be available weather permitting.
-Any boy interested in playing on the DHS JV or Varsity Tennis Team Must attend an informational meeting Today Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4:00. The meeting will be held at the bleachers by court 12 at the DHS tennis courts.

Did you know that DSHS is a 'CLOSED CAMPUS' except for Lunchtime? Therefore, Students 'MUST' check out 'BEFORE' leaving campus, and 'MUST' check back in upon returning to ensure the student is not marked "Left without Permission" which is counted as an UNEXCUSED ABSENCE!

- Juniors and Seniors: Do you want an education that is hands on and will give you a global perspective? Do you like to travel? Do you seek adventure? If so, come to a presentation about studying abroad and how to pay for your adventure. A representative from UC Davis will be in the Career Center N-17 at lunch on Tuesday, November 8 to talk about his experiences abroad in Costa Rica, and how the Gilman International Scholarship helped him pay for it. See you in the Career Center Tuesday at lunch!

Members of the UC Davis Women in Computer Science group will be visiting DHS on Friday to give an overview of careers for women in computer science and related fields.
