REMINDER

      1.        There are still many National Merit Commended Student certificates that have not been claimed. Come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office next to counseling to see the list of National Merit Commended Students. If your name is on the list, you'll receive a certificate from the National Merit Corporation. Come to the Scholarship Office today to see if your name is on the list!

NEW

      1.        INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: The Gap in Davis is offering an unpaid internship program for students interested in learning about fashion, merchandising, or business. Interns will learn all aspects of The Gap including the hiring and training process, The Gap business concept, product receiving, displaying, and marketing, and more. Interns can start immediately. Days and hours are flexible. Come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office next to counseling for contact information.

      2.        Do you want to hear the most annoying sound ever?!?! **high pitched AAEE sound for 7 seconds** If you thought that sound was annoying, turn in your Friendship Day permissions slip into the front office by Thursday. At Friendship Day you will be surrounded by noises like this **silly laughing-tee hee hee hee, ha ha ha ha, chirp chirp.

      3.        Come enjoy some ice cream and support the Davis Concert, Symphonic and Jazz bands at the same time.  Just go to Baskin Robbins at the E Street Plaza on Thursday Oct. 21, from 6 till closing and tell them you want to support the Davis High School band program when you purchase your ice cream.

      4.        Outdoors Club will meet in room C-1, Friday at lunch to elect officers and discuss club activities. So come and meet people who share your interest in outdoor adventures.

1.      JOB OPPORTUNITY: Supercuts hair salon is looking for a receptionist. Duties include operating the cash register, sweeping, and customer service. Pay is $8.00 per hour. Full and part-time openings are available. Hours are flexible. Come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office next to counseling for contact information.

2.      Beginning Monday, October 18, students must part in the Veterans Memorial lot. All DHS staff    will park in the staff lots located on W. 14th at Oak Street near the MPR and Oak Street/New    Gym. Students may not park in designated staff lots or they risk a parking violation citation   and/or school assigned consequences.
